Chapter 98 Night Flies
Chapter 98 Night Flies
At night, Melissa, inside Aunt Martha's body, concluded that the person with the alphabetic system was most likely inside Teacher William's body.
“This person appears in the book, positioned as a background character, and his persona is that of a good teacher who cares about his students. So, that background character system might be inside Teacher William’s body.” System 0733 said, flipping through the book, “That way, the persona won’t be ruined even if the mission is completed.”
“Their mission is probably to help Borist escape his fate of being forced into love.” Melissa sat on the windowsill, tapping on the window while looking out at the completely dark view. “How likely do you think their mission is to conflict with ours?”
“It’s hard to say. After all, if they want to free Borest from the fate of being forced into love, then Evangeline is definitely a target—after all, Borest was later locked in a dark room and subjected to imprisonment play by her,” System 0733 said. “So they will definitely use Evangeline as a starting point.”
"So they'll be competing with us to complete Evangeline's mental health education, right?" Melissa asked.
"Given that they haven't yet advised Borist to stay away from Evangeline, it's hard to say. However, their main target should still be Borist, and they probably won't care too much about Evangeline." System 0733 closed the book representing the original plot.
"Hmm, I see. After completing this mission, let's talk to that background system." Melissa curled her hair in her consciousness space. "Let me see if the person who beat me in the first world was lucky or skilled."
Boruist got up early in the morning and started cooking purple peony soup.
After bringing the breakfast up, Borest urged his two sisters to finish the purple walnut soup, and then he ate a large bowl himself before starting his own breakfast.
While going downstairs to return the bowl, Borest overheard the servants saying that several elders were in a bad mood because the three young masters still hadn't woken up.
Borest suddenly realized that his three cousins seemed quite weak—they had only added a sleeping spell to the amnesia spell, and they still hadn't woken up. Was this really not an act?
But this has nothing to do with Borist, because Grandpa Black Cassie has already given the order to boil medicine for the three of them. They were just given the medicine and should wake up in 20 minutes.
Because it was a family-organized ritual for selecting familiars, the younger members of the family were all ordered to stay around the castle today.
Borest simply went back to his room, and after his two sisters changed their clothes, he took them and the little black cat to the back of the castle to sunbathe.
Inside the castle, Berry, Chicarole, and Bruce finally woke up. Their parents anxiously surrounded them, asking what had happened and why they had all collapsed on the stairs.
Chicaror looked puzzled. He frowned and said, "I don't really remember. I just felt really dizzy and then I passed out."
Not getting the answer he wanted, Joseph sighed and then turned to his eldest son, Bereaves, asking, "Did you see anyone attack you?"
Beris felt only slightly better than Chicaror. He clutched his head and racked his brains for a long time, but couldn't recall any useful information.
Bruce is in the same situation.
“Father! There must be something wrong!” Joseph said at the family meeting convened by Black Cassie.
Black Karshi, contrary to his usual behavior, waved his hand and said, "We'll talk about this later. Let's begin the familiar ritual."
"Father!" Andrew exclaimed anxiously, "Someone is definitely trying to harm my child. He wants to leave the entire Flor family without an heir!"
“That’s not necessarily true, my dear eldest and second eldest brothers,” Johnson said. “Perhaps the three children were just competing with each other and accidentally hurt themselves?”
Johnson would love for his three nephews to remain unconscious. That way, the inheritance he received, along with that of his two brothers who only had daughters, wouldn't be too disparate.
Upon hearing his third brother's words, Andrew and Joseph couldn't hold back any longer, and the three of them started arguing, which was eventually stopped by Black Cassie.
