Chapter 284 The Failure of the Word Bearers

Chapter 284 The Failure of the Word Bearers

The death of the Chaos Wizard struck like a hammer blow, shattering the morale of the Word Bearers. Crimson chaotic energy dissipated in the air, and the blasphemous runes lost their luster. The Word Bearer warriors began to panic; their mutated bodies trembled in the aftershocks of golden psionic energy, as if they had lost the protection of the dark gods.

"For the Emperor! For White Scar!" Casal's voice boomed like thunder as he wielded the White Tiger Blade, its blade slicing through the air in a silver arc. His power armor was stained with chaotic, filthy blood, but his fighting spirit only intensified.

The Wordbearers' defenses crumbled in an instant. Casal charged into the enemy ranks like a white tiger. With each swing of his White Tiger Blade, a Wordbearer warrior fell. His blade was precise and deadly, severing tentacles, cleaving through armor, and even decapitating a Wordbearer.

"Russell! Arya! Follow me!" Casal's voice rang out in the communication channel, carrying an unquestionable command.

Russell supported Arya, the golden arcs of electricity around him gradually dissipating. He nodded, gripping the Bloodthirsty entrenching tool again, and slung the Fire Kirin laser gun behind his back. Arya's face was still pale, but her psionic power had stabilized again.

"Let's go!" Russell growled, leading Arya and following closely behind Casal.

The White Scar warriors surged forth like a white torrent, breaching the Word Bearers' defenses. Their power swords and explosive rifles ravaged the enemy ranks, and the Word Bearers' screams echoed through the corridors.

"The Void Shield Generator is just ahead!" a white-scarred warrior shouted as his power sword pierced the chest of a Word Bearer, then kicked the corpse away.

Casal rushed to the control panel of the Void Shield generator, swung his White Tiger Blade, and cleaved the control panel in two. Sparks flew, and the Void Shield's energy field collapsed instantly.

"Mission accomplished!" Casal's voice carried a hint of triumphant joy. "All troops retreat! Do not linger!"

The White Scar warriors quickly regrouped and retreated towards the Thunderhawk gunship. The remnants of the Word Bearers attempted to pursue, but their morale had completely collapsed, making it impossible for them to mount an effective counterattack.

Russell and Arya brought up the rear of the group, using Bloodseeker shovels and psionic powers to repel several Word Bearers who tried to get close.

"Quick! Get on the gunboat!" Casal stood in front of the hatch of the Thunderhawk gunboat, his White Tiger Blade still tightly gripped in his hand.

The White Scar warriors quickly boarded the gunboat, the engines roaring once more. Russell and Arya were the last to board, the hatch closing with a hydraulic hiss.

"Evacuate!" Casal shouted the order.

The Thunderhawk gunship shot out of the Word Bearer destroyer's compartments like a bolt of lightning. The Word Bearer's turrets attempted to fire, but the collapse of the Void Shield threw their defenses into chaos.

The gunboat quickly moved away from the destroyer, and the White Scar flag fluttered in the void above the orbit of Planet Case IV.

“Mission accomplished,” Casal said, sitting in his chair with his White Tiger Blade resting on his lap, a rare smile on his face. “Well done, brothers.”

Russell and Arya exchanged a glance, then smiled wearily but contentedly.

…………

The leader of the Word Bearers—Chaos Lord Mal'karn—stood in the command center of his flagship, his crimson robes covered in blasphemous runes, his body trembling with rage. Holographic projections played back images of the destroyed Void Shield generator and the retreat of the White Scar warriors.

"These steppe barbarians... how dare they humiliate us like this!" Malkahn's voice roared like the abyss, his eyes burning with chaotic flames. "White Scar... Casal... I will make them pay!"

He whirled around, his robes tracing a dark red arc in the air. His staff slammed heavily on the floor, unleashing chaotic energy that raged through the room, causing several servants to fall to their knees in terror.

"Send out all the scouts!" Malkarn's voice carried an unquestionable command. "I need to know every single move these White Scar barbarians make! Their fortresses, their fleets, their supply lines—everything!"

“Yes, my lord!” A Word Bearer officer knelt on one knee, his body trembling with fear. “We will act immediately.”

“And also,” Malcolm’s voice was low and cold, “inform the ground forces to strengthen their defenses. White Scar’s next target could be our ground strongholds. We must not let them succeed again!”

The officers quickly withdrew, leaving only Malkarn in the command room. He stared at the white-scarred warrior's figure in the holographic projection, especially the one wielding the White Tiger Blade—Casal.

“Cassal…” Malkahn murmured, his voice filled with deep-seated hatred, “You think you can escape the wrath of Chaos? I will make you watch your warband turn to ashes!”

Meanwhile, White Scar's Thunderhawk gunships had already landed in their miniature fortress. Casal stood in the command room, gazing at the holographic projection of Case IV. His White Tiger Blade was still gripped in his hand, its blade still stained with the blood of the Word Bearers.

“The Whisperers won’t give up easily,” Casal said in a low voice, his gaze sweeping over everyone present. “Their leader will surely send out scouts to try and locate us.”

Russell laughed: "That's perfect, I haven't killed enough yet! It would be best if a few more of these Word Bearers trash came, that way I could kill them all to my heart's content."

After Russell finished speaking, the White Scar warriors burst into laughter, clearly they hadn't had enough of killing.

Arya nodded: "I can use psionic energy to interfere with their reconnaissance signals, making it impossible for them to accurately pinpoint our location."

Casal nodded in satisfaction, then shouted, "All White Scar warriors, immediately go on high alert! Scouts, move out and counter the Word Bearers' reconnaissance! Arya, you're in charge of jamming their signals!"

The White Scar warriors responded in unison, their power armor joints emitting a synchronized hydraulic hiss. Russell and Arya exchanged a glance, then quickly sprang into action.
