Chapter 247 Death Watch

Chapter 247 Death Watch

On a marginal planet in the Extreme Starfield, the sky was shrouded in thick, dark clouds, and a torrential downpour ensued. Raindrops pounded against the dense jungle, creating a dense, crackling sound, as if heralding an impending carnage. A squad of Dark Eldar warriors moved through the jungle, their figures as ethereal as ghosts, their armor gleaming with an eerie green light, and their weapons radiating a deadly chill.

“The wailing of these inferior creatures is truly delightful,” a dark Eldar warrior chuckled softly, his voice filled with cruel pleasure.

However, their laughter was quickly interrupted by a sudden burst of gunfire.

From the rain, eight black figures descended like the Grim Reaper. They wore jet-black power armor, with the Death Watch emblem—a skull bound in chains—engraved on their shoulder armor. Their movements were swift and deadly; the roar of explosive guns and the howl of chainswords clashed together, instantly shattering the tranquility of the jungle.

The leader, Captain Titus, wielded a massive chainsword, its blade crackling with crimson energy. His movements were ferocious, like a wild beast; each swing claimed the life of a Dark Eldar warrior. His voice was deep and authoritative: "For the Emperor, destroy these aliens!"

Titus's figure appeared exceptionally tall in the rain. His chainsword cleaved through the armor of a Dark Eldar warrior, blood mingling with the rain, staining the ground red. His gaze was cold and unwavering, seemingly devoid of any emotion, filled only with an endless killing intent towards his enemy.

"Captain, enemies are approaching from the left!" a Deathwatch soldier shouted a warning.

Titus didn't turn around, but coldly said, "Leave it to me."

He swiftly turned, his chainsaw flashing like lightning as he slashed at the Dark Eldar warrior on his left. Before the warrior could even raise his weapon, it was cleaved in two by Titus's blade.

Though the Dark Eldar warriors were cruel and cunning, they were quickly routed by the Deathwatch's fierce offensive. In the rain, the screams of the Dark Eldar mingled with the roar of their bomb guns, creating a symphony of death.

"Retreat! Retreat!" a Dark Eldar warrior shouted, his voice filled with terror.

However, their escape route had already been blocked by Death Watch. Titus stood at the forefront of the battlefield, his gaze coldly fixed on the fleeing enemy: "Leave no one alive."

…………

On a planet at the edge of the Extreme Starfield, the torrential rain continued to pour down, threatening to completely submerge the land. The Dark Eldar warriors had seized control of the planet's main infrastructure, their cruelty and cunning plunging the planet's native inhabitants into endless fear and despair. Titus and his Deathwatch squad, though elite, were too few to decisively defeat the Dark Eldar army head-on. Therefore, they opted for guerrilla tactics, moving like ghosts through the jungle, waiting for an opportunity to eliminate the enemy's remaining forces.

Titus stood on a high ground, rain streaming down his black power armor. His gaze was cold and stern as he watched the distant Eldar camp. Inside, the Eldar warriors were celebrating their "victory," unaware that death was creeping closer.

"Captain, target confirmed," a Deathwatch soldier whispered, his bomb pistol already loaded.

Titus nodded, his voice deep and powerful: "Action."

Eight Deathwatch warriors infiltrated the Eldar camp like ghosts. Their movements were swift and deadly; the roar of their bomb guns and chainswords shattered the tranquility of the rainy night. Before the Eldar warriors could react, they were already lying in pools of blood.

After the battle, Titus stood in the center of the camp, his cold gaze sweeping over his surroundings. His chainsword was stained with the blood of his enemies, and even after the rain, the blade still gleamed with a chilling light.

"Captain, what do we do next?" a soldier asked.

Titus's voice was deep and firm: "Continue the guerrilla warfare and eliminate their manpower. At the same time, wait for reinforcements to arrive."

During the guerrilla warfare, Titus continuously sent distress signals to the Empire. He knew that he and his eight companions alone could not completely defeat the Dark Eldar army. But he also believed that Imperial reinforcements would surely arrive.

"Captain, when will the reinforcements arrive?" another soldier asked, his voice tinged with anxiety.

A resolute glint flashed in Titus's eyes: "Soon. We must hold out until reinforcements arrive."

Just as Titus and his group were focused on hunting down the Dark Eldar, a squad of combat nuns belonging to the "Black Rose" received their distress signal and quickly led reinforcements to the planet.

The battle nuns' assault boat pierced through the clouds and landed at the rendezvous point designated by Titus. The hatch opened, and a team of battle nuns clad in silver power armor, their armor emblazoned with a black rose emblem, their explosive guns and flamethrowers gleaming with a chilling light.

The captain, Celestine, walked up to Titus with a cold and resolute gaze: "Captain Titus, the Black Rose Battle Sisters Squad has been ordered to provide support."

Titus nodded, his voice deep and powerful: "Welcome, Captain Celestine. Our mission is arduous, but with your help, our chances of victory are greater."

A complex emotion flashed in Celestine's eyes as she whispered, "Captain Titus, there's another person on his way. He may not be a Space Marine, but his strength and will are in no way inferior to ours."

Titus frowned slightly: "Who?"

“Russell,” Celestine’s voice held a hint of respect, “is leading a Kashezin squad and is on his way here.”

A flicker of surprise crossed Titus's eyes: "Russell? I know him. We fought together against the Zerg. His arrival will bring us more hope."

Soon after, Russell and his Kashezin squad arrived at the rendezvous point. Their power armor was covered in battle scars, but their eyes were filled with determination and resolve.

"Titus, it's been a long time." Russell's voice carried a hint of a smile, but his eyes held a deep sadness.

Titus stepped forward and patted Russell on the shoulder: "Russell, welcome. Our task is arduous, but with your help, the chances of victory are greater."

Russell nodded, and Titus looked him over carefully and said, "You've aged quite a bit over the years."

Russell smiled wryly: I'm just a human being!

The two were old friends, so they naturally exchanged a few pleasantries and talked about their past.
