Chapter 231 Russell's Past
Chapter 231 Russell's Past
Inside the command center of Vigilant Star, Grand Marshal Hel Blanchett stood before the holographic projection, his gaze fixed on every movement on the battlefield. His injuries had not fully healed, but his deep eyes still gleamed with a sharp light. Chapter Commander Pedro Canto stood beside him, hands behind his back, his expression solemn.
"Who is commanding this battle?" Hel Blanchett suddenly asked, his voice deep and powerful. His gaze lingered on the tall figure projected on the screen—Russell, the Kashezin warrior, leading his team in a fierce battle against the orcish tide.
Pedro smiled slightly, a hint of pride in his voice: "His name is Russell, a Kashezin warrior. Although he is not a Space Marine, his bravery and command abilities are in no way inferior to any of ours. He is a natural-born warrior and an excellent battlefield commander."
Heilblanc nodded, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes: "Russell... I've heard of that name. Sigismund mentioned him in his writings."
Pedro raised an eyebrow, looking somewhat surprised: "Sigismund? That legendary swordsman of the Black Templar?"
“It was him,” Heil Blanchett said slowly. “Sigismund mentioned Russell in his ‘Battle Memoirs.’ He said Russell was a rare warrior with unparalleled fighting talent and unwavering will. Sigismund even personally trained him for a period of time, teaching him the skills and essence of combat tactics.”
Pedro nodded, his gaze returning to Russell in the holographic projection: "No wonder his fighting style is so fierce; he has Sigismund's shadow in him."
Heil Blanchett's gaze deepened, as if lost in memories: "Sigismund once said that Russell was one of the most promising warriors he had ever seen. If it weren't for certain reasons, he might have already become a Space Marine."
Pedro chuckled, a hint of teasing in his voice: "Looks like we missed out on a promising talent. But Russell has clearly found his own path now."
Hele Blanchett didn't respond; his gaze remained fixed on Russell. On the battlefield, Russell was like a ferocious beast. His "Fire Kirin" laser gun and Bloodthirsty entrenching tool ravaged the orc horde, each attack precise and deadly. His figure moved across the battlefield like lightning, and wherever he went, orcs fell.
“He is indeed a remarkable warrior,” Heil Blanchett said softly. “Perhaps we should give him more opportunities.”
Pedro nodded, a thoughtful look in his eyes: "Perhaps. However, Russell is clearly more willing to lead his Kashezin warriors in battle now. His team has become one of the strongest lines of defense on Vigilant Star."
Hele Blanchett paused for a moment, then slowly said, "In any case, his performance deserves our attention. If he can continue to demonstrate this level of skill in the upcoming battles, I will personally award him a medal."
Pedro smiled, a hint of teasing in his voice: "It seems the Grand Marshal is quite interested in Russell."
Hele Blanchett did not respond; his gaze remained fixed on the holographic projection. On the battlefield, Russell was leading his team in a counterattack, and the orcish offensive was gradually crumbling under their tenacious resistance.
“Perhaps Russell will become the next legend,” Hale Blanchett said softly, a hint of anticipation in his voice.
Meanwhile, Russell, on the battlefield, was unaware that he had attracted the attention of two important figures. His focus was entirely on the battle at hand.
Despite the ferocity of the orcs' attacks, the human defenses remained steadfast under his command.
"Russell, right side!" Leos's voice came through the communicator, calm and decisive.
Russell whirled around and saw a group of orc warriors attempting to break through the defenses from the right. He sneered and activated "Imperial Protection," a golden light instantly enveloping his body. His speed, strength, and reflexes surged, and the firing rate of his laser gun increased dramatically. The orc warriors fell like wheat before him.
"Kashejin warriors, hold the right flank!" Russell shouted, his voice echoing across the battlefield like thunder.
The Kashejin warriors responded swiftly, their laser guns and plasma weapons unleashing a dense barrage of fire that repelled the orc warriors attempting to break through. At the same time, the Oglin Brutal charged forward, his storm shield and power hammer striking fear into the hearts of the orc warriors.
"Russell, watch out! That damn King Kong is coming!" Leos's voice rang out again, his tone tinged with urgency.
Russell looked up and saw a massive, monstrous Titan slowly approaching on the distant horizon. Its size rivaled that of a Titan, its rough metal shell covered in rivets and welding marks, its enormous cannon barrels and saw blades gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
"Titan Legion, concentrate fire!" Russell issued the order via communicator.
Humanity's Titans quickly adjusted their firepower, unleashing both plasma cannons and volcanic cannons simultaneously, directly striking the Golem. Amidst the massive explosion, the Golem's outer shell was torn apart, exposing its internal mechanical structure, ultimately reducing it to scrap metal in a violent blast.
"Well done!" Russell shouted, his voice filled with fighting spirit.
The battle continued, the orcs' attacks coming wave after wave, seemingly endless. However, the human defenses, held firm by Russell and his team, remained unyielding. With each orc's fall, a system notification echoed in Russell's mind: "Obtained 1 Fragment of the Great Muscle Giant..."
