Chapter 967: The Fight Breaks Out

Seeing Hui Niang lying unconscious in bed with bandages wrapped around her head, Hui Niang’s mother and siblings began to wail loudly.Hui Niang’s father, Sun Junren, looked at his daughter in bed and silently wept, covering his face.

Liu Lang didn’t fight back, biting his lip and enduring it.

Yun Jiao stood at the door, coldly watching Liu Lang take the blows without speaking.

She thought it was good for Liu Lang to be hit a couple of times; such a small matter had been mishandled into this.

With a life lost, even those in the right had become wrong.

Mrs. Chen couldn’t bear to see her son beaten, rushed over, and forcibly pulled Hui Niang’s brother, "What are you doing? What right do you have to hit my son!"

Sun Junren said coldly, "My Hui Niang is almost gone; what’s wrong with hitting him a couple of times?!"

Hui Niang’s mother rushed over then, grabbed Liu Lang, and shook him fiercely, "You owe my daughter’s life; give me back my daughter’s life. She’s not yet twenty but ends up like this. All I want is a person back!"

Yang Ying glanced at Yun Jiao then, whispered, "Not going to intervene?"

Yang Ying nodded and said nothing more.

Mrs. Chen, accustomed to physical work, had some strength left; she pushed Hui Niang’s mother aside and said, "Hui Niang sought death herself; what does it have to do with Liu Lang?"

Hui Niang’s mother angrily replied, "Why didn’t she seek death at home? It’s your family’s problem, all caused by Liu Lang pampering the concubine and neglecting the wife. I don’t care, my daughter cannot lose her life in vain!"
