Chapter 93 Which Path
Chapter 93 Which Path
"Which one?" Borest asked, taking the book from "Haikal".
Hu Xiaohai glanced up and down, then pointed to the middle dish and said, "This one, I don't understand it."
Borist was silent for a while, then began to explain the problem to Hu Xiaohai.
Seeing this, the other students followed suit and took out their textbooks. After preparing their questions, they stood behind "Heikal," trying to strike up a conversation with this dark horse in the magic competition and learn some tips for learning magic.
After Borist finished explaining the problem to "Haikal" in front of him, he looked up and saw that he was surrounded by a group of people, and he was stunned.
Just then, Tom, the Potions teacher, walked over. Seeing that the students weren't sitting properly in their seats, he shouted, "What are you all doing? Class has started, what are you all doing standing around like that?"
Then, Mr. Tom pointed at Borest and said, "Come up here and copy the potion on page 365 of the textbook for me."
After hearing this, Borest remained silent for two seconds without further refusing, and walked up to the podium with his textbook.
Watching Borest skillfully pick up the correct herbs and put them into the crucible in the correct proportions, Tom began to wonder why he hadn't noticed this gifted boy before.
Before attending this class, Tom had seen William getting close to this boy named Borest, so he specifically asked William if the boy was really that good, or if he had just won against Heledi, the rising star of the magic academy, by chance.
William said, "I actually lean towards the idea that Boris was just that good to begin with, and his victory over Heledi was definitely not a coincidence. In fact, I only found out a few days ago—that's when he learned the Flight Charm himself, and then cast it on himself to make himself fly. He almost crashed into me when he flew into the classroom, and that's when I realized how good this kid was."
“So I realized I wasn’t paying enough attention to my students,” Mr. William said, patting Tom on the shoulder. “You don’t need to blame yourself for not having good judgment.”
“Get out!” Tom said.
His thoughts returned to the present, and he saw that Borest had already lit a fire and begun boiling the herbs in the cauldron. Tom couldn't help but compare Borest to Heledi.
Compared to Helene, this boy named Borest was more silent and introverted. This was quite unusual for children his age. Tom thought to himself that children this age were usually ambitious and impatient, and they wanted to make a big fuss about even the smallest achievements, wanting everyone to know.
On the contrary, Borest had been studying here for so long and hadn't noticed anything about the kid's talent. Tom thought Borest was incredibly patient.
Tom was still thinking when he smelled a medicinal scent. He snapped out of his reverie and realized that Borest had already prepared the potion.
Tom went over to take a look, scooped out a spoonful, and smelled it carefully. He found that the potion that Borist had made was quite good.
"Alright, you can go now. Don't crowd together like a bunch of people during breaks anymore, you hear me? You don't even realize class has started," Tom said.
“I understand, teacher,” Borest replied.
After a morning, Borest received a message from his teacher, William, asking him to come over and copy the article.
At the last corner on his way to the office, Borest ran into Heledy.
Heledi looked like she had been waiting at that corner for a long time—because her first words were: "Borist, you're only getting here now?"
"Is there something you need?" Borest recalled how he had beaten Heledi down before. "If you're talking about the match, then I can't say anything. If you're talking about how I was lucky, then I can't help it either, because..."
“Luck is also a part of strength.” Lu Renkui taught Borist how to say what he would say to Heledi in the consciousness space.
"Is it really okay for you to fan the flames like this?" System WQBYRZM asked.
“This shouldn’t be considered adding fuel to the fire, right?” Lu Renkui shrugged. “I’m just stating the facts—good luck is part of one’s ability, after all.”
However, Heledi didn't seem to agree with this statement. He took two steps at a time and walked up to Borist, intending to use his height advantage to force Borist to look down at him.
But when she got to Borist, Heledi realized that Borist was just a little thinner and not actually short.
Realizing this, Heledi stopped a meter away from Borest.
When Boris saw that Heledy had stopped walking, he figured she was probably alright, so he took two steps to the side, intending to go around her to find Teacher William to copy the article.
"Stop! Did you get something?" Heledi grabbed Borist as he tried to leave.
Borest dodged Heledi's grasp and then said, "What did I get? I didn't get anything. I can guarantee that everything I know is from my own legitimate learning—or did you get something that suddenly made your strength so great?"
Heledi was stunned for a moment, and Borest took the opportunity to rush to his office.
Watching Borest dash into the office, Heledi clenched his fist; he felt Borest must know something.
This guy can't stay here any longer. Heledi thought to herself, this kid will definitely be a troublemaker if I keep him around.
However, it would be difficult to do it in front of so many people. As Heledy walked back to the classroom, she thought to herself that she had to find a secluded place to kill him and make it look like an accident.
"Would that ancient spellbook contain the relevant incantations?" Heledi wondered. She changed her mind, went to a secluded spot, took out her ancient spellbook from her spatial storage, and began searching for the relevant spells.
After copying the article, Borest went to his afternoon classes, and after those classes, he went to pick up his sister.
Borist first went to the classroom where his two younger sisters were.
The two younger sisters were not in the classroom.
Borest felt something was off, so he asked the teacher, who said that his two younger sisters had gone to play by the lake with the other children.
Upon hearing this, Boris felt a sense of unease and hurried towards the lake. There he saw a group of children dressed in nice clothes surrounding his two younger sisters, both boys and girls, talking loudly.
Olivia stood in front of Carola, baring her teeth and glaring at the boy and girl who were leading the group.
"What's with that expression?" the little boy with beautiful green curly hair spoke first. "You two are a scourge. My teeth fell out the moment I got close to you today."
"That's right, that's right!" Several more boys chimed in.
"Please don't bring the gods' punishment upon us, okay?" said the little girl with a big red bow in her hair, who was as delicate as a porcelain doll. "My favorite dolls have been ruined by the punishment you brought."
“This has nothing to do with us,” Olivia shouted, first addressing the boy, “You were the one who tried to run me over, and I dodged. Then you ran into the wall and knocked out your teeth!”
“And you!” Olivia turned to the girl again and said, “You broke your doll yourself, and you’re trying to pin it on my sister!”
"How could you lie?!" the doll-like girl shrieked. "If the gods find out, they will only punish you more severely!"
“I didn’t lie!” Olivia seemed hesitant. “It’s clearly your own problem.”
"You dare talk back? Today I'll punish you on behalf of the gods!" the green-haired boy said, raising his fist to hit Olivia.
Olivia turned and hugged Carola, closing her eyes. But instead of a punch landing on her, she heard the terrified scream of the green-haired boy.
Olivia and Carola cautiously opened their eyes and then saw a person whose face they couldn't make out holding a magic wand, using magic to levitate the green-haired boy.
Although they couldn't see the man's face clearly, Olivia and Carola could tell that it was their brother.
Boris couldn't say whether his current behavior was calm or not.
She claimed to be calm, but in a moment of impulse, she used her magic to lift up the child who was bullying her sister.
He claims he's not calm, yet he knows to first cast a spell to confuse others, making it impossible for them to see his face clearly; he also knows to add a soundproof barrier, preventing outsiders from hearing what's happening here.
Looking through Borist's eyes, Lu Renkui scratched his head and said, "Why don't you bring your two younger sisters over first? They look quite scared."
Borist thought Lu Renkui's words made sense, so he didn't put down his wand and walked over directly.
The children had never seen anything like this before, and with it getting dark, Borist had put on a black robe over his school uniform, making him look even more frightening.
The children all thought of the crow monster in the story their parents used to scare them.
Apart from the little boy with green curly hair, Carola, and Olivia, the other children screamed and ran away.
But the children ran a few steps before realizing they couldn't get out—because they had all run into the magical barrier set up by Borest.
As Borist approached, Olivia and Carola became even more certain that the boy in front of them was their brother. They excitedly reached out to Borist, hoping to get a hug from him.
And that's exactly what Boris did. He put the green-haired boy down—who immediately ran off—and then reached out and hugged his two younger sisters.
Olivia and Carola were laughing happily, and Borest also felt cheerful at that moment.
But the other, younger children weren't so happy; they found themselves trapped. Their initial cries turned into a cacophony of wails and curses, the gist of which was that Olivia and Carola had summoned a raven monster and intended to kill them all. The two were indeed wicked, inheriting their parents' contempt for God; even if they were torn to pieces after death, it would be their just deserts.
"I'm starting to think about beating them up." As the system WQBYRZM listened to these words, it began to wonder what the chances were of being discovered by the main system if it turned into a physical form and went to beat people up.
“Indeed, the evil of children is the most terrifying,” Lu Renkui sighed. “Their sense of good and evil comes entirely from their parents. If parents do not teach their children well, they will definitely only do whatever they want.”
