Chapter 7, First-Rank Divine Record (End)
Jing'an looked up and saw a girl facing him in the moonlight. Because of the backlighting, Jing'an couldn't see the girl's face clearly.
"Wh-who is it?" In this situation, Jing'an didn't care how good the woman's figure was or how beautiful her face was. He just felt that this woman who suddenly appeared in his current situation was definitely not a good person.
As Jing'an had predicted, the woman raised her left arm and then swung it down heavily.
Immediately afterwards, Jing'an felt a strong and powerful spiritual force rushing towards him.
Jing'an's legs buckled, and he knelt on the ground, narrowly avoiding the woman's attack.
The woman frowned, drew the sword from her waist, and swung it squarely at the well bank.
Upon seeing this, Jing'an quickly fell to the side, but his left arm was still severed.
The woman snorted coldly: "You're quite good at dodging, take this!"
The woman made a hand gesture and chanted an incantation. The sword light slowly emanated from the sword as she spoke, and the patterns on the sword surface appeared, floating in the air and surrounding the woman.
"Crescent Slash!" With the woman's angry roar, the white patterns surrounding her instantly coalesced into a glowing white crescent-shaped ball of light.
The crescent-shaped ball of light spun in the air. Jing'an watched in horror as the white crescent attacked him. He tried to get up and dodge, but he stumbled and fell face down to the ground.
When he got up again, the white crescent-shaped ball of light was only three steps away from the well bank and was about to hit it.
Jing'an closed his eyes in despair, and then heard the sound of a bamboo flute.
As the sound of the bamboo flute began, clusters of green light coalesced in the air. The elegant flute music controlled the green halo to surround the white crescent moon, gradually enveloping it and neutralizing the woman's attack.
"Who goes there?! How dare you ruin my plans!" Seeing her attack neutralized, the woman became more alert. She gripped her sword tightly and shouted into the darkness.
"Witch, how dare you!"
Following the sound came Wang Fenglang, dressed in a light green robe. He placed the bamboo flute to his lips and played one melodious note after another, from which green orbs of light slowly rose.
Then, Wang Fenglang played the music with great passion, and the green halo instantly transformed into sharp arrows that shot towards the woman.
The strange woman dodged aside and sneered, "What, trying to control me? You think you can?"
“I don’t believe my skill is inferior to yours, young lady.” After saying this, Wang Fenglang twirled the bamboo flute in his hand, and it transformed into a sharp sword. Then, Wang Fenglang charged towards the woman with the sword in hand. “Hidden in the shadows all this time, could it be that you, young lady, are ashamed to be seen?”
Upon hearing this, the woman opposite him sneered, "Trying to force me to reveal my true colors and fight you using this method? Dream on." She then slashed at Wang Fenglang with her sword.
Wang Fenglang caught the woman's sword and said regretfully, "It seems you don't want to talk to me anymore. Then let's follow the Wang family's rules."
As soon as she finished speaking, some green light faintly appeared on the ground. To the woman's astonishment, a barrier appeared, along with a group of Wang family servants with cultivation.
Seeing the sudden appearance of this group of people, the woman knew she was outnumbered and that Wang Fenglang was her equal in cultivation. She gritted her teeth in resentment, cursed him as a "despicable villain," and exchanged a few more blows with Wang Fenglang in mid-air.
Immediately afterwards, the woman found an opening, and with a swift movement, conjured a teleportation barrier, sending herself away from the Wang family.
Watching the woman leave, Jing'an was initially relieved, but then, thinking of Wang Fenglang and the Wang family servants standing right in front of him, his heart began to pound again.
"I thank you for your help, young master," Jing'an stammered.
Wang Fenglang walked towards Jing'an.
Wang Fenglang did not transform the sword in his hand back into the shape of a bamboo flute. Instead, he carried the sword and walked step by step toward the well bank.
"Nanli Jing'an plotted to harm the Wang family, threatening children to buy poison, and tonight he colluded with the demons from within, intending to have them attack the Wang family from the outside." Wang Fenglang ignored the trembling Jing'an and his apparent attempt to defend himself, and continued, "Today, according to the Wang family's rules, he is to be executed!"
Then Wang Fenglang raised his sword and swung it towards Jing'an's neck. Jing'an's head was instantly separated from his body, and his head spun around on the ground like a ball before stopping.
Wang Fenglang stared expressionlessly at the headless body of Jing An on the ground, then turned and left, instructing the Wang family members: "Just say that tonight's events were caused by a demonic cultivator colluding with a spy to break in from the outside. They were discovered by the crowd, and when the demonic cultivator realized he was no match for us, he personally killed the spy and fled in disarray."
"Yes!" the Wang family servants responded, and then quickly disposed of the body on the bank of the well.
Wang Fenglang had only taken two steps when he suddenly remembered something. He took out a jade bottle from his pocket and then from his body, unscrewed the stopper, and went back to the spot where he had died on the well bank. He poured the clear yellow solution inside the jade bottle onto the ground.
"Young Master, isn't this a bit too much..." A somewhat knowledgeable servant was surprised to see Wang Fenglang pour the precious ecstasy on an unknown nobody.
“There’s nothing inappropriate about it,” Wang Fenglang replied in a low voice. “This person is of questionable character. If we let his soul go to the underworld, he will only slander us in front of King Yama.”
The servant nodded upon hearing this.
After pouring out the Soul-Sealing Liquid, Wang Fenglang added another array on the spot that could weaken the soul and trap it in place. He confirmed it several times before leaving the courtyard.
On his way to his room, Wang Fenglang's mind kept replaying the scenes from his dream the night before.
