Chapter 55: The Plan is Halfway Through
Chapter 55: The Plan is Halfway Through
Macachi, making close contact with the floor, crashed onto it with a loud thud.
Maria Elisa's impact was so forceful that it made Macachi, who had just been standing still, gasp for breath.
Makachi's face contorted in pain—Lu Renkui thought his face looked like the wrinkles on a steamed bun—and after recovering a little, Makachi glared fiercely at Maria Elisa.
Maria Elisa shook her head at Pollalid, who had rushed upstairs with a worried look on his face after hearing the noise, indicating that there was no problem here.
After watching Pollard go downstairs, Maria Elisa went into the room and closed the door behind her. She then tossed a small metal cube to Macachi.
Makachi caught the small metal cube that Maria Elisa threw to him; it had a small red button on it.
Maria Elisa gestured for Macachi to click the small red button, but Macachi didn't do so. Instead, she took two steps back, looked at Maria Elisa coldly, and said, "I'll ask you a few questions, and I'll press this red button after you answer them."
Maria Elisa shrugged, looking nonchalant, indicating that Macachi could ask her anything.
"What is your relationship with him?" Makachi frowned, staring intently at Maria Elisa's face—ever since he fell in love with Pollalid at first sight, every time he tried to do something to evoke Pollalid's sympathy or increase her favor, Maria Elisa would always appear out of nowhere and disrupt everything he planned.
"Who? Pollalid? We're just friends." Maria Elisa knew what Macachi thought of Pollalid.
“Stay away from him,” Macachi said unhappily. He didn’t believe that this woman couldn’t see that Pollalid liked her—Macachi didn’t want Pollalid to like someone else before liking him.
"Uh—give me a reason." Maria Elisa rolled her eyes inwardly—this lustful thing, she hadn't even won him over yet and was already warning others not to come near.
“Reason? There is no reason! If I had to say, it’s that I don’t like you being around him.” Makachi stated his illogical reason with a straight face.
Maria Elisa was unusually speechless.
"Instead of worrying about Pollard, I think you should worry about yourself first." Maria Elisa no longer wanted to talk to this eccentric male Alpha who was supposed to be a yandere. She was genuinely afraid that talking to an idiot for too long would make her become stupid too.
"Concerned about myself? You mean this little metal box in your hand poses no threat to me?" Makachi chuckled dismissively, believing that this plainly dressed woman in front of him could not possibly be a threat.
Maria Elisa rolled her eyes, opened the door and left: "I just suggested you open and take a look at the thing I gave you; it's better for everyone that way."
After saying that, without waiting for Makachi to say anything more, Maria Elisa ran downstairs like a gust of wind.
Seeing that the annoying strange woman finally left, Makachi snorted and pressed the small red button with great disdain. He wanted to see what would happen after pressing the red button.
After pressing the small red button, a projection slowly appeared on the small metal cube, displaying images. Looking at the projection, Makachi's expression changed from fearless to horrified and furious.
Because what was projected on the screen was none other than all his identity and information, even including how many times he had had dental work done.
Makachi was both anxious and angry. He suddenly realized how difficult Maria Elisa was to deal with—if Maria Elisa wanted to, she could easily reveal her identity to Pollard without his knowledge and contact the Poland family to pick her up.
Given the utterly careless nature of the rest of the Polande family, this explosive news would immediately bring all his enemies to hunt him down.
He had already been hiding for two months, and in another week he could wait for the current patriarch of the Polande family to die. Once he had secured the position of family head, he would naturally no longer be hiding like he was now.
But now Maria Elisa has completely seized control of him, and he is about to fail at the last minute.
Makachi threw the small metal cube hard against the wall. With a crisp metallic cracking sound, the small metal cube shattered completely.
Seeing the small metal cube shatter and then flash twice before turning completely gray, Makachi finally calmed down a bit.
That woman absolutely cannot live. Makachi gritted her teeth; she was too unstable.
At this moment, Makachi had already devised a plan in his mind on how to kill Maria Elisa silently.
After watching Maria and Elisa's series of seemingly baffling actions, Lu Renkui asked, puzzled, "Didn't you say you were going to kill Macachi? Wouldn't it be easier to kill him without him knowing you know his identity?"
Although Lu Renkui didn't quite agree with Maria Elisa's idea—that is, to kill Makachi—she felt it was too risky and Maria Elisa might even lose her own life, she still understood Maria Elisa. After all, when you know that the person you love most will die in the future because of a scumbag, you would definitely be more inclined to take the law into your own hands than to resort to the law.
But Maria Elisa's way of revealing her hand is tantamount to gambling.
While pushing Makachi to a certain point would inevitably expose his true identity, the risk would be far too great—because that guy would definitely fight Maria Elisa to the death, and might already be planning how to kill her.
"Hey, can't you trust my abilities?" Maria Elisa seemed a little dissatisfied. "I'm not one of those mascots; I have real skills."
“Besides, killing him directly wouldn’t be fun, would it? I have a way to kill three birds with one stone.” Maria Elisa snapped her fingers playfully, then revealed her thoughts to Lu Renkui and the system WQBYRZM in her consciousness space. Anyway, these two couldn’t go anywhere in her mind now, so she didn’t have to worry about them leaking the secret.
After listening, Lu Renkui frowned, while the system WQBYRZM lowered its head in thought.
Lu Renkui always subconsciously brought Maria Elisa into the picture of her sister—although her sister was unlikely to have any grudges against anyone that required killing them—she knew that Maria Elisa's actions were partly to help them, but she still felt that a more conservative approach should be taken.
System WQBYRZM was pondering whether or not to meddle in this matter—judging from Maria Elisa's idea, the mission progress could probably be increased significantly, but putting the original owner in a dangerous situation was somewhat unethical.
“I know what you’re thinking, and I know what you’re struggling with.” Seeing that there was no response from her head for a while, Maria Elisa knew what the two outsiders were thinking. She sighed and said, “Can’t you stop treating me like some reckless little kid like Anx does? I’m an adult, I know my limits, and I’m even more mature than my peers. While other seven or eight-year-olds are still dreaming about marrying princesses or princes and playing in the mud, I was already beating up all the kids I knew and becoming their king.”
Hearing this, Lu Renkui was silent for a while, as if he couldn't put Maria Elisa into the image of his sister, whose personality was more like that of his brother.
Oh, right, and herself too.
System WQBYRZM remained silent with her head down, but she had already begun calculating the success rate of Maria Elisa's idea. When the calculated probability was over 80% assuming Maria Elisa did not die, System WQBYRZM agreed to Maria Elisa's idea.
"Assuming you don't die, and considering the original description, the success rate is over 80%, you can give it a try," the system WQBYRZM said. "But you have to calculate the time carefully; if you're even a second late, you're dead."
"I know, don't treat me like a child," Maria Elisa said, somewhat displeased.
