Summoned from another world, the hero is Ultraman Zeta.

Chapter 105 Rejection and Acceptance

Chapter 105 Rejection and Acceptance

On the dilapidated streets, bricks and tiles were scattered everywhere, and it was difficult to find a place to step. Yet, many people kept calling out and searching in these places, some looking for valuables, and others looking for living beings.

Broken feathers and bloodstained wolf fur were scattered everywhere, a horrifying sight and sound. The sun was beginning to set in the distance, and another unknown night was about to arrive. But this time, humans would no longer have shelter to live in.

How should we get through this dark night?

Countless people are pondering this question. The ruins around them cannot provide them with safety. The sun, which all living beings cherish, is relentlessly moving away. The Golden Eagle Demon has left from the east, but darkness is coming from there.

Is it time to light a fire? No one dared to give their answer.

As the sun set and no fire was lit, another rare but very familiar light appeared behind everyone. When everyone turned around, a huge magic circle appeared before their eyes, followed by the sudden appearance of a giant of light, and a healing radiance that filled the sky.

"He's a brave warrior! He's a hero! He's Ultraman!"

A cheer broke the silence of the tragedy, followed by cheers from the entire crowd as they ran and gathered at the feet of the Giant of Light, jumping for joy.

Some people started fires, some turned their backs to the sun, some shouted the name of the brave, and everyone was trying their best to support this new light.

Zeta didn't understand the meaning behind these people's actions. He had never been treated like this by humans when he was on Earth, and he felt a little ashamed. However, seeing that everyone was happy, he didn't try to stop them.

Zeta had never experienced the terror of the night on this land, and was unaware of the location and strength of the otherworldly monster. Therefore, Zeta and Haruki could only focus on the present and do their best to make everyone happier.

Zeta's female wolf warrior and little wolf slowly walked out from behind her. They were curious about Ultraman's superpowers and were puzzled by the reactions of the crowd. However, none of that mattered. In fact, all the problems were no longer problems because Zeta was already standing there.

As night fell, the moon shone brightly, there was no wind or cloud, and the sky was clear. The streets where every house had closed its doors yesterday were now filled with bonfires. Without the shelter of rooftops, people could only huddle together for warmth. Collapsed roof beams were taken down and put into the fire, so that even if the flames soared into the sky, there would be no more danger.

"Alright, this is the last injured person. Yugi Junsuke's treatment is finally over. Just how amazing is the chairman? Yugi Junsuke was full of energy from beginning to end."

Inside the makeshift hospital, Haruki put down Yuugi Junsei and saw off the last knight wolf who had been healed. His work was basically finished, and he could rest well for the rest of the time until the next monster attack.

"You've worked hard, Haruki and Zeta. Here, have some hot drinks to warm you up."

Ah-Jiu took two cups of hot drinks into the house, taking advantage of Yao-Hui's moment to catch his breath so she could chat with him about what was to come.

"Sean went on patrol with the Wolf Knights to make sure there were no threats from Golden Eagle Demons or otherworldly monsters in the vicinity. The reconstruction of the streets has been basically finalized, and we can start work tomorrow. However, the Wolf Knights have made a request regarding the start of construction."

"Requirements? What requirements? I have no knowledge of civil engineering."

After a long day of work, Haruki didn't want to use his brain anymore. If he could, he really wanted to stay in the Yugi Crystal and get a good night's sleep, just like Zeta is now.

"Of course we won't let the hero handle infrastructure matters. It's a safety issue. The people are demanding... that the hero stay here to protect everyone and ensure the smooth progress of the reconstruction work. However, that would greatly delay our search for the Light Magic Stone."

Ah Jiu recalled the guild's instructions to her. As the intermediary between the guild and the hero, there were certain things that she had to do. This was an instruction that the class leader had given to Ah Jiu from the very beginning.

"Don't they already have the Wolf Knights protecting them? Why would they need Zeta's power?"

"Because human nature is greedy, you fool, how could those people easily let go of thugs who stand guard for them for free?"

Belial appeared from the doorway at dusk, holding a roasted lamb leg. He answered Haruki's question with a disdainful tone, then took a mocking bite of the meat.

"How could you say that, Belial-san! As the hero, it is my duty to protect everyone! I will not allow you to speak of those suffering people like that again; they are innocent!"

Haruki stood up angrily and spoke, while Belial Twilight turned to look at Haruki, swallowed the meat in his mouth, and chuckled softly.

"Hmph, what I say is not important. What matters is what those people saw, what they heard, and what they thought."

Beria glanced at Ajiu deliberately at dusk. Ajiu sensed something was wrong and quickly got up to close the doors and windows tightly.

"You can ask me not to mock tragedy, but how can you refuse their abuse of your kindness? The hero sung about by everyone?"

The closed windows prevented the outside world from being heard, but Yaohui could easily see the dancing around the campfire in the distance. People were cheering and celebrating on the ruins of their recently destroyed homes.

"Well... I... I can't really explain it, but someone has to lend a helping hand to people in trouble, right?"

Yao Hui looked out the window, somewhat bewildered. He found it hard to believe that the dark streets where every house was closed yesterday had been transformed into ablaze with fire and filled with laughter and joy after being destroyed.

“You are kind, Haruki, so you lend a helping hand to those in distress, but you are not smart enough. You rarely consider whether you will get dirty after reaching out, whether the place where you reach out is dangerous, or whether the person you are trying to save is a thorny, furry ball.”

The Belial Twilight blocked Haruki's view from the window, forcing Haruki's gaze to him and making his words more memorable to his brain.

"So, what should I do?"

"So you need to know how to put on 'gloves' for the hand you're going to reach out. You blockhead, you need a pair of 'gloves' from the outside world."

The power of Belial Twilight was once again transferred to Haruki. As usual, there was no interference, only enhancement. Haruki's mind was very clear, so he knew that he should now grasp the hilt of Belial Twilight.

"You must remember one thing, Haruki: it's not only those who wield the Holy Sword who are heroes; those who hold the Demon Blade can also be heroes."

A connection has been established between Haruki and Belial Twilight, a bond that exists independently of the bond between Haruki and Zeta. It is not a contract, yet it allows the two to share power; it is not a pact, yet it still enables them to benefit each other.

"That's right, good boy. Eat and drink well tonight and get some rest."

Belial Twilight offered the lamb leg he had bitten to Haruki's mouth, letting Haruki take it, and only left satisfied after watching Haruki eat it.

"That's all for today. Leave the night patrol to me. Just call me if you need anything, and I'll naturally come looking for you when I need something, hehehehe."

Haruki didn't say much, he just ate the food Belial Twilight handed him and stood by the window staring outside.

"Are you alright, Yaohui? Did that demon sword do anything to you?" Ajiu was shocked to see Yaohui holding the demon sword and felt like he had instantly become a different person. She couldn't help but ask about Yaohui's condition.

“I’m fine, but what Belial-san said was a reminder that now is not the time to throw a party. Sometimes it’s more useful to pour cold water on things than to give out charcoal.”

"Do me a favor, A-Jiu. Tell the Wolf Knights that I can agree to guard this place, but I need them to help us meet with the lord."
