Chapter 1492: Going to His Place
Chapter 1492: Going to His Place
Morgan Ashworth touched her belly.
Her belly was pointy and not very big. Now, as his large hand covered it, he could almost wrap his entire hand around her small belly.
Inside was his son.
Morgan Ashworth felt a soft warmth in his heart. His fingers moved a little and slowly, gently caressed around her belly.
At this moment, Morgan Ashworth suddenly felt a little kick in his palm, as if the baby inside moved.
Morgan Ashworth’s eyes lit up. It was truly a wonderful thing. He looked at Willow Crawford, "It seems... my son kicked me."
Willow Crawford felt it too and nodded, "Yes, he did kick. Maybe he’s interacting with you."
Little Joy was very active and lively, often kicking Willow Crawford’s belly. This was his first meeting with his daddy, and little Joy couldn’t wait to greet him.
Morgan Ashworth moved his hand again, and at that moment, little Joy inside followed with another kick.
Morgan Ashworth’s heart was full. His son was indeed kicking him.
Just then, Willow Crawford’s small hand covered his large hand, and she softly smiled, "Joy, this is your daddy."
Morgan Ashworth looked up at her in his arms. She had long, fluttering eyelashes and her voice was sweet and soft, obedient and gentle, just like their son.
In Morgan Ashworth’s eyes, she had always been the little princess in his palm, never growing up.
At this moment, the surrounding people suddenly jostled, causing Morgan Ashworth to lean forward, and his thin lips unintentionally brushed against Willow Crawford’s small face.
He kissed her.
Willow Crawford suddenly looked up, her beautiful black eyes watery, looking at him.
The two of them didn’t speak, but their gazes were locked, creating an ambiguous atmosphere. The most tantalizing part was their faces were close together, breaths intertwined.
Morgan Ashworth lowered his gaze to her red lips and then looked back into her beautiful, expressive eyes.
Willow Crawford couldn’t withstand his gaze and the intimate atmosphere, so she looked away.
At this moment, with a "ding," the elevator door opened.
Everyone walked out, and Morgan Ashworth also let go of Willow Crawford, as if the intimate moment just now was a mere illusion.
...
The three of them got into the car. Morgan Ashworth drove in the front, and the luxury car headed toward the Crawford family villa; he was taking her home.
"Princess, are you hungry now?" Mrs. Webb asked with concern.
Willow Crawford nodded; she was a bit hungry.
"The cook at home has already prepared your favorite dishes, so eat more later." Mrs. Webb handed Willow Crawford a water bottle.
Willow Crawford took a few sips of water.
Just then, Mrs. Webb looked out the window and was surprised to see they were not on the way to the Crawford family. She immediately said, "Master Ashworth, did you take the wrong road? This is not the way back."
Willow Crawford glanced outside; it wasn’t the road back to the Crawford family, it was the opposite direction, toward his place.
Willow Crawford quickly looked up at the man in front.
Morgan Ashworth’s handsome face was emotionless. He said casually, "I need to go back to deal with a document now, and after I finish, I’ll take you back."
"But... how about this, Master Ashworth, I know you’re busy. You can let the princess and me off here, someone will come to pick us up," Mrs. Webb proposed.
Morgan Ashworth frowned, "Do you think I’d be relieved leaving my son on the street?"
"This..."
"I promised a day, it’s only been half a day. I’ll take you back after I finish my business." Morgan Ashworth’s attitude was dominant and uncompromising.
Mrs. Webb didn’t say anymore. The steering wheel was in his hands, so whatever he said went.
...
Soon, Willow Crawford got out of the car. Looking at the villa in front of her, she suddenly felt as if it was from another lifetime. When she left five months ago, she thought she’d never return.
But now, she was back.
Back to their love nest, to the place filled with laughter and joy, where they spent many nights embracing each other. Little Joy was conceived here too.
The maid opened the door, "Master, the meal is ready, you may dine now."
Willow Crawford walked to the dining table. The dishes laid out were her usual favorites, things Morgan Ashworth hadn’t forgotten.
Even though Mrs. Webb was a bit reluctant, she could see that this Master Ashworth cared deeply for their princess and the child in her belly, so she said, "Princess, since you’re here, eat with ease."
"Alright." Willow Crawford sat down, and Morgan Ashworth sat across from her.
"Princess, let me peel some shrimp for you; eating more shrimp is good for the baby." Mrs. Webb pushed the peeled shrimp toward Willow Crawford.
Across from her, Morgan Ashworth had also peeled several big shrimps. He intended to offer them to Willow Crawford, but Mrs. Webb beat him to it. Morgan Ashworth, "..."
She loved eating shrimp but disliked peeling them. He used to peel them for her, especially early in her pregnancy when he took meticulous care of her. Now, she didn’t need him anymore. This irksome Mrs. Webb was always around her, and he didn’t even have the chance to get close.
After the meal, Willow Crawford wanted something sour. Her pregnancy made her crave sour foods more than ever, proof that there was some truth to the old saying for her.
She spotted a small yogurt on top of the fridge and immediately tiptoed to get it.
But due to her height, she couldn’t reach it no matter how hard she tried.
Morgan Ashworth watched her clumsy attempt from behind, like a little penguin, utterly adorable. He wanted to step forward to assist.
But Mrs. Webb beat him to it again, "Princess, do you want yogurt? Let me help you." Mrs. Webb took down the yogurt and handed it to Willow Crawford.
Morgan Ashworth, "..."
Willow Crawford turned with the yogurt, and there was Morgan Ashworth. She wanted to say something to him, but before she could speak, he snorted coldly, turned on his heel, and went upstairs to the study.
What was wrong with him?
Willow Crawford found his behavior baffling. How had she offended him?
Mrs. Webb, being experienced, had already figured out this young master’s little feelings. She whispered guidance, "Princess, let’s just stay downstairs for a while. Once Master Ashworth is done, he’ll take us back. Don’t go upstairs, alright?"
"Why can’t I go upstairs, is there a flood up there?" Willow Crawford was puzzled.
This made Mrs. Webb blush. Her naive princess was unaware; she didn’t know there was a wolf upstairs eagerly eyeing her. "Princess, just remember you are pregnant, and you mustn’t get too close to men because it’s risky, understood?"
What was Mrs. Webb saying?
Willow Crawford’s face turned crimson. She and Morgan had been apart for so long; all she thought about daily was safeguarding her pregnancy, not once thinking about that.
"Mrs. Webb, stop talking nonsense. I get it, don’t say anything more." Willow Crawford turned and walked away.
