Chapter 207: Demon King Sirius
Chapter 207: Demon King Sirius
The descent from the Seven Fingers Mountain took less than an hour. Adonis Kingsbane moved like a shadow slipping over jagged glass.
At the base of the massive cliffs, the Howling Keep stood as a monument to absolute suffering.
The fortress was carved directly into the black obsidian of the mountain. Rivers of molten rock poured from the high walls, creating a glowing moat of liquid fire.
Above the keep, a massive pillar of black smoke choked the red sky.
The air vibrated with the endless wailing of trapped souls burning inside the dark furnaces.
Adonis did not look for a secret entrance. He did not care about stealth. He walked directly up to the colossal iron gates.
Two massive Bone Giants guarded the entrance. They were towering monstrosities built from the fused skeletons of a thousand lesser demons, wielding massive clubs made of hardened magma.
"Halt, wandering spirit!" the left Bone Giant bellowed. "This is the domain of Demon King Sirius. Turn back, or be thrown into the soul-furnaces!"
Adonis did not stop walking. He raised his right hand, his spectral green eyes flaring beneath his tattered grey cowl.
"Open the door," Adonis commanded smoothly.
"Intruder!" the right Bone Giant roared, raising its molten club high into the air.
Adonis flicked his wrist.
Humm!
A concentrated wave of pure, condensed kinetic force erupted from his palm. The blast hit the two Bone Giants squarely in their chests.
Bang!
The impact was so devastating that the hardened magma shattered instantly.
The fused bones exploded into a cloud of white dust, scattering across the burning moat.
Without breaking his stride, Adonis kicked the colossal iron gates.
Bang!
The metal groaned and buckled under his ridiculous physical strength. The heavy doors ripped off their hinges and crashed onto the courtyard floor with a deafening boom.
"See it isn’t so difficult," Adonis muttered to himself, stepping over the ruined iron.
The inner courtyard was swarming with hell-hounds and armored demonic knights. But when they saw the gates obliterate and felt the terrifying pressure rolling off the intruder, they froze in sheer panic.
Adonis ignored them completely. He walked straight through the courtyard, his boots echoing loudly on the stone, and entered the grand throne room of the Howling Keep.
The throne room was massive, supported by pillars of glowing red crystal. At the far end of the hall sat a grand throne forged from screaming silver faces.
A figure sit upon it.
Adonis stopped in the center of the room. He rested his hand on the hilt of his great sword.
"Demon King Sirius, Your reign in this pit is over. I am here to collect your head."
"Hehehe.."
Follwing his words, a soft, melodic giggle echoed through the throne room. It did not sound like the raspy growl of a monster. It sounded incredibly pleasant, like silver bells chiming in a quiet garden.
"My, my. The Primus of Death sent a high-tier Death Spirit to assassinate me? How incredibly boring,"
The voice was sultry from behind the smoke.
"I was hoping he would send an army. A single spirit is hardly a workout for me."
Adonis frowned slightly beneath his hood. The voice was entirely too human.
The dark smoke slowly parted. Adonis prepared himself to face a hulking brute covered in spikes. Instead, his eyes widened slightly in genuine surprise.
Sitting upon the throne of screaming souls was not a monster. It was a woman of absolute, breathtaking beauty.
Demon King Sirius was a succubus. She had flawless, pale skin that contrasted sharply with her long, flowing crimson hair. Two elegant, obsidian horns curved gracefully from her temples. Large, leathery bat wings folded neatly behind her back.
She wore a very revealing set of dark, metallic armor that hugged her incredible curves perfectly.
Her eyes were deep pools of glowing ruby red, currently staring at Adonis with absolute boredom.
"Well? Are you going to attack me, little spirit?" Sirius sighed, resting her chin on her hand. "Or are you just going to stand there and stare? I know I am beautiful, but I do have a schedule to maintain."
Adonis let out a short, amused breath. He reached up and gripped the edge of his tattered grey cowl.
"A succubus, are you? I suppose that explains how you managed to charm so many rogue souls into following you. But you are mistaken about one thing. I am not a Death Spirit."
Adonis canceled the disguise.
The hollow, freezing energy of the grave shattered instantly.
Flash!
The tattered shrouds dissolved into his pristine black imperial robes. His sickly grey skin vanished, revealing his flawless, ruggedly handsome face and his piercing violet eyes.
The entire throne room shook as the chaotic, living aura of the Dragon Emperor flooded the space.
"Hmmm?!" Demon King Sirius raised an eyebrow of curiosity. She shot up from her throne, her ruby eyes completely wide.
She stared at the blinding violet light, but her gaze quickly locked onto Adonis’s face.
Her face flushed unknowingly.
"By the abyss, You are mortal. You are a living man. And you are... absolutely gorgeous."
Adonis coughed.
"I am Adonis Kingsbane, the Emperor of the Chaos Order. And I am here to exterminate you."
Sirius did not look intimidated. Instead, a massive, incredibly excited smile spread across her beautiful face. She bit her lower lip, her wings fluttering rapidly behind her.
"Adonis Kingsbane," she repeated his name with sultry amusement. "A living Emperor in the firmament of death. With a face carved by the gods and power that makes my wings tingle. Oh, this is the best day of my eternal life!"
She stepped down from her throne. As she moved, a long, flexible whip-sword materialized in her right hand. The weapon was forged from pink and black soul-fire, crackling with dark charm magic.
"If you want my head, handsome Emperor, you are going to have to catch me first!" Sirius laughed playfully.
Boom!
She lunged forward with explosive speed. She did not move like a warrior seeking blood.
She moved like a dancer. She spun through the air, her crimson hair trailing behind her, and lashed out with her whip-sword.
Adonis raised his chaos sword, easily blocking the strike.
CLANG!
The pink soul-fire clashed against his violet ether, sending sparks flying across the crystal pillars.
"You are fast," Adonis noted calmly.
"And you are very sturdy," Sirius winked at him. She used the momentum of the clash to backflip over his head, landing gracefully behind him.
"I like a man who can take a hit. Most of the demons here break far too easily."
Bzzzzzzz!
She attacked again, her whip-sword extending into a flurry of pink strikes. Her movements were incredibly flirtatious. She swayed her hips with every dodge, purposely showing off her stunning figure. She blew a kiss of dark fire toward his face, aiming to charm his senses.
Adonis simply tilted his head, letting the dark fire harmlessly splash against his Chaos shield. He swung his massive blade in a wide arc, aiming to cut her in half.
Sirius gasped, ducking under the heavy blade by a fraction of an inch. She rolled across the floor and popped up right next to him.
"Whoa! That is a very big sword you have there, Adonis," Sirius teased, Are you always this aggressive on the first date?"
"This is not a date," Adonis replied coldly. He channeled more violet ether into his legs and vanished from his spot.
He reappeared directly in front of her, thrusting his free hand forward to grab her throat.
Sirius squealed in surprise. She barely managed to bring her whip-sword up in time to wrap around his wrist. She pulled hard, trying to throw him off balance, but Adonis stood like a mountain of solid iron. He did not budge a single inch.
"Oh my, You are incredibly strong. It is making me quite dizzy."
"You talk too much during fight," Adonis stated.
He flexed his wrist.
Buzz!
Instantly, a wave of Chaos energt completely shattered her pink soul-fire whip.
The weapon dissolved into harmless sparks.
Before Sirius could retreat, Adonis stepped into her guard.
Bam!
He slammed the flat of his great sword against her side, sending her flying across the throne room.
She crashed into a crystal pillar, groaning softly as she slid to the floor.
"Ouch," Sirius pouted, rubbing her hip. "You really do not know how to treat a lady, do you?"
"I treat my wives like queens," Adonis answered, walking slowly toward her. "Buy I treat my enemies like dust. Choose which category you belong to very carefully."
Sirius looked up at him. She saw the absolute, tyrannical power radiating from his body.
She felt the heavy, suffocating weight of his Chaos aura completely dominating her demonic aura.
He was a god among men, descending into the underworld not to hide, but to conquer.
The Demon King, ruler of the Northern Wastes, found herself completely hopelessly charmed.
She did not summon another weapon. She did not try to cast an illusion. Instead, Sirius slowly got up on her knees. She pushed her crimson hair back behind her horns and looked up at Adonis with big, pleading ruby eyes.
"I yield," Sirius said softly.
