One moment, Lucas was a carpenter, finding peace in carving the wood. The next, he woke to the stench of charred grass and the sight of a giant roaring Dragon.
He welcomed the help of the Unbowed. a mercenary group that hunts the monsters others dread. But for Lucas, killing such beasts is much more than a means to earn money. Each soul he takes is consumed by his skill [Soul Reaper], granting him the precious XP that makes him stronger.
Step by step, Lucas grows more powerful, preparing for the day he is strong enough to challenge the being who dragged him into this world.
A Bad Start
Captured and branded as a trespasser, Lucas was forced into a life of slavery and military service. In this gritty land, human life is not respected at all. He was never meant to be a hero; he was meant to be nothing more than fodder in someone else's war.

The world is stitched together by systems Lucas barely understands. Monsters give him XP, dungeons hold forgotten relics, and every class, title, and rank reshapes what one can become. Even Vows have weight here.
