Chapter 142 I Will Always Be With You
Chapter 142 I Will Always Be With You
Yang Piaoliang had no choice but to step forward and order Zhu Shigou to leave.
"Zhu Shigou, get out of here!" Tan Haoyu roared, coldly watching Zhu Shigou being kicked out of the room by Yang Piaoliang.
Until Zhu Shigou's figure disappeared outside the door.
Tan Haoyu then turned to Yang Piaoliang and said, "If he comes again in the future, just send him away without asking me."
Yang Piaoliang nodded in agreement: "Yes, President Tan."
Tan Haoyu took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, and turned back to his room.
Zhu Ziqing was so angry at Zhu Shigou's arrogant appearance that she trembled all over.
Tan Haoyu held her tightly and whispered comfortingly, "Ziqing, don't pay attention to him. With me here, no one can hurt you."
Zhu Ziqing leaned against him, tears silently streaming down her face.
Her heart was filled with pain and anger, but even more so with dependence and gratitude towards Tan Haoyu.
Tan Haoyu looked down at her, his heart filled with worry.
He didn't know how much of the conversation Zhu Ziqing had overheard, nor how much of an impact those conversations would have on her.
But he knew that from this moment on, he had to be even more careful to protect her and not let anyone hurt her again.
"Ziqing, don't be afraid. I will always be by your side," Tan Haoyu said softly, his tone full of determination.
Zhu Ziqing nodded and leaned against him, as if she had found her only support.
Tan Haoyu scooped Zhu Ziqing up in his arms, ignoring her struggles, and walked straight towards the room.
His movements were forceful and domineering, but his tone was so gentle that it was irresistible: "Ziqing, you need to rest. Don't push yourself."
Zhu Ziqing struggled a few times in his arms.
Finally, she leaned weakly against his chest, her voice hoarse and tired: "Haoyu, put me down... I can walk by myself."
Tan Haoyu glanced down at her, his tone firm: "No, I'm not comfortable with you in your current state."
Zhu Ziqing wanted to say something, but Tan Haoyu interrupted her directly: "Don't say anything, just listen to me."
He strode into the room and gently placed Zhu Ziqing on the bed.
He turned to Yang Piaoliang, who was standing at the door, and said, "Yang Piaoliang, I'll leave the matters outside to you."
Yang Piaoliang nodded respectfully, "Yes, President Tan."
Tan Haoyu closed the door, isolating Zhu Ziqing from the outside strife.
Outside the door, Zhu Shigou's angry roar could still be clearly heard.
"Why are you stopping me? I am Zhu Ziqing's father! She is my daughter!" Zhu Shigou's voice was filled with anger and resentment.
Yang Piaoliang looked at him coldly, her tone laced with sarcasm: "Mr. Zhu, please leave. You are not welcome here."
Zhu Shigou's face instantly turned ashen. He pointed at Yang Piaoliang's nose and cursed, "You're nothing but Tan Haoyu's lackey, a dog relying on its master's power!"
Yang Piaoliang chuckled lightly, his tone contemptuous: "You drove your wife to her death, your daughter doesn't want you anymore, what you've done is worse than that of pigs and dogs."
Zhu Shigou's face turned pale and then flushed as he was struck on a sore spot. He roared, "Shut up! Who do you think you are, daring to lecture me?"
Yang Piaoliang was too lazy to waste any more words with him, so she simply raised her hand and waved.
Several security guards dressed in black immediately stepped forward and surrounded Zhu Shigou.
“Mr. Zhu, please leave. Otherwise, don’t blame us for being impolite.” Yang Piaoliang’s voice was cold and ruthless.
Seeing this, Zhu Shigou knew that there was no point in continuing the argument, so he could only turn around and leave dejectedly.
Before leaving, he deliberately turned back to look at Zhu Ziqing, his tone laced with provocation: "Zhu Ziqing, you'll regret this!"
As he walked out the gate, he gave the Tan family's gate a fierce look, his eyes filled with malice.
"Tan Haoyu, Zhu Ziqing, don't be too smug! One day, I'll make you regret it!" Zhu Shigou muttered to himself, already plotting his next move.
Inside the room, Zhu Ziqing's emotions remained unsettled.
She sat on the edge of the bed, her hands gripping the blanket tightly, her body trembling slightly.
Suddenly, she started coughing violently, her face turning frighteningly pale.
Tan Haoyu immediately stepped forward, gently patted her back, and said with concern, "Ziqing, don't get agitated, take a deep breath, and take it slow."
Zhu Ziqing pushed his hand away, her voice hoarse and angry: "Leave me alone! I...I'm so useless! I can't even handle my own father, and he's making such a scene here..."
Tan Haoyu frowned, his tone gentle yet firm: "Ziqing, this isn't your fault. You know better than I what kind of person Zhu Shigou is. You don't need to blame yourself for his actions."
Zhu Ziqing looked up, her eyes filled with tears: "But...but my mom...she did it all because of me..."
Tan Haoyu's heart skipped a beat. He reached out and gently wiped away her tears, his voice low and gentle: "Ziqing, your aunt wouldn't want to see you like this. She would definitely want you to pull yourself together and live a good life."
Zhu Ziqing's tears flowed uncontrollably, her voice choked with sobs: "Haoyu, I...I really don't know what to do...I'm so tired..."
Tan Haoyu gently pulled her into his arms, his voice full of tenderness: "Rest when you're tired. I'll stay with you. No matter what happens, I'll be by your side."
Zhu Ziqing leaned against him, tears silently streaming down her face.
Her emotions gradually calmed down, but her heart was still filled with pain and confusion.
After a while, Tan Haoyu gently released her and said in a low voice, "Ziqing, lie down and rest first. I'll go get you a glass of water."
Zhu Ziqing nodded, silently lay back on the bed, and stared fixedly at the ceiling, as if she were lost in her own world.
Tan Haoyu brought her a glass of warm water and handed it to her: "Ziqing, have some water."
Zhu Ziqing took the water glass, took a small sip, then put the glass down and said softly, "Thank you."
Tan Haoyu sat on the edge of the bed, trying to meet her gaze.
But Zhu Ziqing consistently avoided his gaze. He sighed helplessly and asked in a low voice, "Ziqing, are you alright?"
Zhu Ziqing nodded, her voice weak: "I'm fine, just a little tired."
Tan Haoyu knew she was running away, and felt a sense of helplessness.
He reached out and gently stroked her cheek, his voice tender: "Ziqing, if there's anything on your mind, you can tell me. Don't keep it bottled up inside."
Zhu Ziqing closed her eyes and sighed softly, "Haoyu, I'm really tired and want to rest for a while."
Tan Haoyu was silent for a moment, then finally nodded: "Okay, you can rest now. I'll be outside, call me if you need anything."
He lowered his head and gently kissed her forehead, then got up and left the room.
The moment he closed the door, a complex look flashed in his eyes.
Zhu Ziqing lay on the bed, her gaze still fixed on the ceiling, but her heart was far from at peace.
She knew Tan Haoyu cared about her, but she couldn't open her heart to him at that moment.
The death of her mother and Zhu Shigou's harassment made her feel helpless and in pain like never before.
"Mom, what should I do..." Zhu Ziqing murmured softly, tears silently streaming down her face.
