Chapter 506 The Truth About the Chaos Observer (2)

Suddenly, a silver-gray pillar of light descended from the star map dome of the library, enveloping the Guardian. He felt the chaotic patterns at his heart resonate violently with the coordinates of the seventh parallel universe; the silver-gray energy flowing through his veins was like boiling magma, each pulse accompanied by the hum of twelve black stars in his ears. The observers, dressed in modern attire, formed a circle, their silver-gray badges simultaneously lighting up, creating a ring of energy that trapped the Guardian and the merged entity at its center.

“49th Generation Observer, your hesitation will destroy all parallel universes.” The elder at the head stepped forward, and a complex star map appeared on the surface of his badge. The location of the seventh parallel universe in the star map was being swallowed by a silver-gray shadow. “According to Article 37 of the Chaos Codex, those who refuse to carry out the cleanup mission will be regarded as parasites of the power of the end and will be eliminated.”

The merged entity suddenly stood in front of the Guardian, its white life force coalescing into a lightsaber in her palm: "You are not observers! The true observers protect the balance, not destroy the universe!" The lightsaber slashed at the ring-shaped energy field, but was bounced back the instant it made contact. Ripples spread across the surface of the energy field, reflecting countless images of parallel universes being devoured by silver-gray energy—those images showing the observers in modern clothing carrying out the "cleanup" mission were none other than the observers themselves.

A hint of pity flashed in the old man's eyes: "Poor embodiment of balance, don't you understand? Balance itself is the biggest lie." He waved his hand, and more images appeared in the ring-shaped energy field: some universes, due to overemphasizing the power of creation, eventually disintegrated in an energy explosion; some universes, due to the loss of control over the power of nothingness, turned into a deathly darkness; and in other universes, bound by the laws of balance, all life lost the possibility of evolution and remained forever in its primitive form.

"These are all victims of the laws of balance." The old man's voice was seductive. "Only the power of chaos can allow all universes to evolve freely, even at the cost of a one percent elimination rate. Look at the heart of chaos within the guardian; that is the ultimate destiny of the universe."

A sudden, tearing pain shot through the Guardian's heart, and silver-gray patterns crawled up his neck along his veins. Two voices clashed fiercely within his consciousness: one cried out, "This is not the balance you want," while the other whispered, "Only by accepting chaos can everything be saved." The instant the coordinates of the seventh parallel universe completely disappeared from the star map, he felt the silver-gray energy within him surge. The silver-gray patterns on his four-colored wings instantly covered most of them, almost completely suppressing the golden and dark purple light.

"He's losing control of the chaotic power!" The fusion rushed forward and embraced the guardian's body. White light surged into his body from where they touched, attempting to suppress the spread of the silver-gray patterns. Deep within her consciousness, the life beliefs collected from the cosmic network were rapidly dissipating. These beliefs repelled the chaotic power within the guardian, and with each fraction lost, her figure became more transparent.

The ring-shaped energy field suddenly fluctuated violently, and a figure wearing tattered armor squeezed in through a gap in the energy field. His armor was covered with silver-gray scratches, and the observer's badge on his chest was broken, revealing a beating silver-gray heart underneath. The face of this figure was exactly the same as the guardian's, except that his eyes were filled with vicissitudes and determination.

"Don't listen to their nonsense!" The armored observer swung his broken sword at the leading elder. "They are puppets of the 'Chaos Council'! The real Chaos Observers were wiped out by them three thousand years ago!" The broken sword clashed with the elder's badge, sparking blinding sparks. Within the sparks, a bloody memory surfaced: countless observers dressed in modern clothes were besieging traditional observers, and silver-gray energy stained the entire Observer Temple red.

The old man's expression finally turned serious: "The 36th generation Observer, you're still alive." He made a gesture, and countless silver-gray chains suddenly extended from the ring-shaped energy field, wrapping around the armored Observer as if they had a life of their own. "Letting you escape from the Chaos Prison back then was truly the biggest mistake."

The armored observer struggled violently in his chains, his broken sword suddenly pointing at the Guardian's heart: "See that pattern? That's not a seal, it's the controller the Chaos Council uses to control the power of the End! They made you absorb the power of the End so they could turn you into a weapon to destroy all parallel universes!" His voice was hoarse with pain, "Back then, I was branded a traitor and imprisoned in the Chaos Prison, where time flows a thousand times faster than outside, because I refused to become a weapon!"

The Guardian's consciousness wavered under the impact of this information. He looked at the silver-gray lines on his palm; these lines were indeed changing according to the old man's commands—the lines would become active when the old man mentioned "cleansing," and would briefly pause when the armored observer mentioned "control." What alarmed him even more was that when the armored observer spoke of the "Chaos Prison," fragmented images suddenly flashed through his mind: a rotating silver corridor, runes flashing on the walls, and a person who looked exactly like the armored observer, carving slogans of rebellion on the walls.

"You doubt your own memories?" The old man seemed to see through his thoughts. "That's because your memories have long been tampered with by the Chaos Council." He took out a silver metal ball from his pocket, which projected an image: the young guardian was lying on the operating table, a group of people in white coats were injecting silver-gray energy into his body, and standing by the operating table was the old man in his youth.

“We have been training you to be a vessel of chaos since you were born.” The old man’s smile turned cold. “With the bloodline of the first observer, the power of the end, and the mind control of the Codex of Chaos, you are the perfect tool for cleansing.”

Suddenly remembering something, the merged entity's consciousness sank into the cosmic network, searching for information about the "Chaos Council." In a forgotten database, she found a fragmented record: The Chaos Council was founded after the split of the Observer Civilization, composed of a group of radicals who advocated "chaos supremacy." They believed that the conflict between the Creator God and the God of the End was the original sin of the universe, and only by allowing the power of chaos to govern everything could all conflict be ended.

"Their ultimate goal is to merge the twelve black stars with the Guardian to form a new God of the End!" The merged entity transmitted this information to the Guardian's consciousness. "And those parallel universes that were cleared out were actually used as nourishment to feed the black stars!"

This realization struck the Guardian like a thunderclap. The silver-gray energy within him suddenly spiraled out of control, and the silver-gray patterns on his four-colored wings began to peel away, revealing a ravaged gold and dark purple light beneath. The library's star map suddenly inverted, and the coordinates of all parallel universes began to flash red. The silver-gray symbols next to each coordinate twisted, as if sending out a distress signal.
