Chapter 120 The truth comes to light
Chapter 120 The truth comes to light
After saying goodbye to Lana, Enoch used his invisibility ability again and left the room.
After waiting for a while, Lana went to the window and looked out. The courtyard was empty, but she could see the hero leaving. The smile on her face gradually disappeared.
"I hope this was all the work of the church, otherwise I can only ask you to die, hero."
······
Inside a church in the inner city, several bishops gathered.
"How did things go? Did you leave any loopholes? A brave person isn't stupid!"
The female bishop chuckled:
"Everything is going according to plan; he should believe it about 80%!"
The leading bishop nodded.
"It won't be long before he becomes suspicious of us, so let's not give ourselves away. How's his sister doing?"
"Her five senses and four limbs have already been destroyed. All we need to do is wait for the person with the spatial coordinates to arrive in Oliver City, and then we can teleport her there directly!"
The leading bishop laughed.
"Don't let her die! She's an important pawn. We need to make her die in front of the hero to complete the final step!"
"Now all we need to do is wait for the hero to come and ask for help!"
"You should go back first, and don't let the hero find out anything!"
Several bishops left one after another.
······
After leaving Lana's residence, Enoch did not leave the palace, but instead followed her advice and went to find Claire, the captain of the North Gate Knights.
'Give this letter to Claire, the captain of the Knights; he might be able to find your sister!'
Lana's words gave him hope again. If it weren't for Lana, he wouldn't know what to do now.
Upon arriving near the area managed by Claire, Enoch revealed himself. He couldn't simply go in undetected; many powerful individuals were very perceptive of changes in their surroundings, and getting too close would easily lead to detection.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, he decided to just let it go.
In an elegantly decorated room, Claire was playing with a white handkerchief embroidered with a beautifully crafted character '克'.
Just then, there was a knock on the door, which startled him. He quickly stuffed the handkerchief into his pocket.
"What's up!"
"Captain! The Hero wishes to see you!"
A voice sounded from outside the door.
Claire frowned. He actually disliked this guy quite a bit; he always went to Princess Lana's place, completely shameless. 'Princess Lana clearly favors me!'
"Tell him I'm dealing with important matters and don't have time!"
The person outside hesitated for a moment, but finally continued:
"Captain! It seems the Hero has something very important to discuss! He even said that Princess Lana sent him!"
Claire was about to get angry, but when he heard that it was Princess Lana who had sent him, he immediately calmed down.
"Let him in!"
After a moment, the guard led Enoch to the door, and he hurriedly entered the room. The guard then withdrew.
When Claire saw Enoch rush in, she was about to make a sarcastic remark, but seeing his disheveled appearance, she softened her tone.
"Enoch, why are you in such a hurry? What's wrong?"
Without wasting any words, Enoch handed over the letter in his hand.
"Princess Lana asked me to give this to you."
Claire carefully took the letter, slowly opened it, and found a brief account of the whole story, along with a request for him to help Enoch find his sister.
The letter contained roughly these contents, but it also contained coded messages that only he himself could decipher.
'If you can't find him, just kill him!'
Claire laughed inwardly, 'Just as I thought! Princess Lana never took Enoch seriously; he was nothing more than a pawn!'
"I see. I feel sorry for what happened to you."
Enoch was somewhat agitated.
"Claire! Do you really have a way to find my sister? If you can help me find her, I will remember this kindness for the rest of my life!"
Claire does indeed have a skill that allows him to locate people, sensing their exact location over a wide area. This is a skill he awakened later, and only he and Lana know about it.
Claire nodded.
"I do have a skill to find people, but if you want to thank someone, thank Princess Lana."
Despite his words, Enoch still bowed to him.
Do you have any of the things your sister usually uses?
Enoch paused, then removed a talisman from his neck.
"Is this okay? My sister gave it to me!"
Claire shook her head.
“You’ve been wearing it for too long; it’s covered in your own scent.”
Enoch was even more anxious. All of his sister's belongings had been burned in the fire, so where could he find the things she used to use?
Claire waved her hand.
"Is your sister your biological sister?"
"What I mean is, if you are siblings from the same father and mother, your blood can also be used as a medium!"
Without hesitation, Enoch slashed his hand across the partially drawn holy sword, and blood gushed from his palm.
Claire rolled her eyes.
"You don't need that much, just one drop will do!"
As he spoke, he tapped Enoch's hand, then closed his eyes and activated the skill.
Two white lights appeared in the pitch-black field of vision. One was close at hand, so bright it was almost blinding, while the other was in the distance, very dim, as if it might go out at any moment.
Claire opened her eyes.
Enoch asked anxiously.
"So? Have you found my sister yet?"
Claire glanced at his still-bleeding hand.
"We've found your sister! Judging by the distance, she should be in the inner city!"
"However, her condition doesn't seem good; it feels like she could die at any moment..."
A sharp grinding sound rang out; Enoch was about to grind his teeth to pieces.
"It really is the church!"
"Tell me where she is!"
Claire picked up the knife that was resting on the table.
"I can only sense direction, let's go together!"
"But let's make this clear first, I won't get involved. I'll only help you find her!"
Enoch bowed again.
"Thank you so much! I will end all of this myself!"
Claire, however, poured cold water on the idea.
"I advise you not to oversimplify things. Your sister's condition is very bad. You should find a skilled therapist. Otherwise, even if you save her, she probably won't last long!"
Enoch immediately thought of Sora in his team, but quickly dismissed the idea. Sora was close to the church, and he didn't dare gamble on their friendship.
"Saving your sister isn't the priority right now. She's alright, which means they don't want her to die. It's best to have backup plans in place!"
Enoch calmed down. He didn't trust ordinary therapists. Austin College must have great mentors, but they had all moved to Oliver City.
"We'll have to go to Austin College first; maybe some tutors are still there."
After making the decision, Enoch cast an invisibility spell on both himself and Claire, and then headed towards the academy.
