Chapter 82 Master, please comfort me, okay?
Li Tingyun narrowed his eyes and asked, "How did he speak ill of me?"
Wangcai fabricated a story: "He said you're a really bad person, abusing small animals, and all you want to do is stew dog meat soup. You don't give me any food, so I have to cook for you! I don't even have my own little nest or food bowl. I really can't stay in this house for another day."
Li Tingyun smacked him on the head, "You've finally said what's on your mind, haven't you? Still trying to hide? Come here!"
Wangcai lay listlessly in front of him. "Is it even possible that this is how he beat the dog's head silly?"
Li Tingyun thought to himself: Mei Shiyu, how could he possibly talk badly about people behind their backs?
"You stupid dog, I'll ask you one more time, what did he say to you?"
Wangcai tried desperately to recall the scene and finally remembered something useful: "He said I was very insecure and a child who was afraid of losing things. He asked me if I had been abandoned... Oh, right, he also said that he wouldn't let me go back to Taiji Hall and that I had to keep following him."
Li Tingyun listened in silence, and the pain in his body, which felt like his bones were about to be broken, didn't seem to bother him much at that moment.
He threw away the medicinal wine and bandages, and limped back to the inn.
"Wangcai, don't show your face for a while."
Li Tingyun walked out of the alley and turned to the side, saying, "Remember, if you ruin my big plans, I won't bother turning you into soup... I'll skin you and eat you raw, leaving not even bones."
He spoke the most vicious words in the calmest tone, each word dripping with blood.
Wangcai trembled and whimpered incessantly. What a vicious heart its master had, and what a bizarre appetite!
I wonder if the things Mei Shiyu said to him still hold true.
He's thinking of switching to another club now, woof woof...
Li Tingyun returned to the inn, found the room where Mei Shiyu had rested, and walked step by step to the bedside.
Even though they were so close, the person sleeping soundly on the tatami mat remained undisturbed.
Li Tingyun leaned down to listen to his long, steady breathing. After a while, she gently took his wrist, which was resting on his forehead, and put it back to his side. She also moved his arm, which was sticking out from the side of the bed, back to his side, so that he could lie flat on the bed in a comfortable position.
Li Tingyun was surprised that Mei Shiyu was sleeping so soundly that even after he manipulated her limbs, she showed no signs of waking up.
Looks like he's exhausted.
Presumably, he expended a great deal of magical power for Wang Wu, so only by falling into a deep sleep could his primordial spirit rest and recover.
Li Tingyun's dissatisfaction with Wang Wu and his son intensified.
His gaze fell on Mei Shiyu's waist. Even when he was sleeping, he kept his body tense. He was dressed neatly and meticulously, and the jade belt formed by the Qing Shuang sword tightly hugged his strong and supple waist.
Li Tingyun reached for the Qing Shuang sword, his movements slightly slow.
No one but the sword master can control this divine weapon; it is so powerful that it can cause injury if touched carelessly. Moreover, the Azure Frost Sword has nurtured a sword spirit, so it is even more forbidden for anyone other than Mei Shiyu to touch it casually.
When Li Tingyun reached out, something unexpected happened. Not only was he unharmed, but the moment he touched the jade belt, the Azure Frost Sword appeared, its hilt voluntarily slipping into his hand.
Mei Shiyu's outer garment loosened, and Li Tingyun set aside the scabbard of the Qing Shuang sword. Then, she gently pulled the brocade quilt from the inside of the bed and covered Mei Shiyu with it, tucking the corners of the quilt around him.
He's usually clumsy, but he's very thoughtful and caring.
After doing all this, Li Tingyun lay down by the bed and quietly watched his master's sleeping face. His burning gaze seemed to transform into a tangible hand to trace the contours of the beauty's cheeks, and his cunning eyes wished they could probe along the collarbone and into the neckline to peek at the infinite spring scenery hidden by the clothes.
Unfortunately, he is still too young to do anything.
Feeling depressed, I banged my head on the ground.
An hour later, Mei Shiyu was awakened by bursts of thunder.
Then he discovered his young apprentice sleeping on the side.
Perhaps he plowed three acres of land overnight, which is why his snoring was so loud, like muffled thunder.
The boy buried his face in his right palm and slept soundly.
Mei Shiyu's entire right arm was numb.
He propped himself up and found that there were extra blankets on him. He was surprised that his vigilance had dropped, but at the same time, he felt a slight tremor in his heart because of his apprentice's meticulous actions.
As soon as he moved, Li Tingyun woke up and asked him sleepily, "get out of class is over, why didn't you wake me?"
Mei Shiyu: "Yuanbao, you're still half asleep."
Li Tingyun then realized that she had mistakenly switched channels.
He shook his head vigorously and said in a hoarse voice, "Master, I feel a bit of a headache and I'm not feeling well."
He had been half-squatting and half-kneeling for too long, and when he stood up, his legs felt like they were being electrocuted. He simply pressed one leg against the edge of the bed, stretched out his arms, and threw himself into Mei Shiyu's arms. "Ah, my legs are weak. Master, I didn't mean to."
Mei Shiyu couldn't do anything about him, so she raised her hand and pressed down the tuft of hair sticking up on his head, which tickled him.
He gently massaged Li Tingyun's temples and suddenly noticed that the boy's face was covered in bruises, all of which were superficial injuries.
"What have you been doing? How did you get those injuries on your face? And why are you all so dirty?"
Mei Shiyu thought he was too slovenly and rubbed herself all over, but she didn't avoid him. Instead, she lifted his chin, wiped the dust off his nose, and removed all the bruises and abrasions.
Li Tingyun held her head high, staring intently at him, but she could see a hint of heartache in his eyes. She blurted out, "Master, I've been bullied. You're not by my side, no one is there to support me, and they're all bullying me!"
The boy nestled his head against his chest, speaking in a strangely aggrieved tone. Even though Mei Shiyu knew that he was most likely the one who provoked others first, and knew that he couldn't change his reckless and troublesome nature, he couldn't bear to scold this little dog that seemed to be soaked by the rain.
Li Tingyun lingered in his warm embrace and the fragrance of plum blossoms emanating from him, reluctant to leave. "Master, please comfort me, okay?"
Mei Shiyu was not without experience in raising children; Yuan Che had been raised by him since he was a teenager. However, the child was very well-behaved, and he didn't need to worry too much about him, whether it was his conduct, his work, or his cultivation.
Yuanbao is different. Not only is he unruly, but he also lacks common sense. Even though he's reached an age where he's gradually maturing, he still clings to people like a three-year-old, impossible to pry off.
He often says naive things, does childish things, and even acts recklessly, just like an uncivilized wild monkey.
Mei Shiyu couldn't bring himself to be harsh on him. The boy wanted him to coax him, so he did. He didn't know why he did it, but he did it subconsciously.
Mei Shiyu gently patted the boy's shoulder and back.
Li Tingyun couldn't help but laugh so hard his shoulders shook. "Master, are you putting a child to sleep? Why don't you sing a lullaby?"
Mei Shiyu blushed, suddenly realizing that indulging him like this would only lead to trouble sooner or later. So he grabbed the back of his neck and dragged him out, saying in a cold voice, "Why are you spouting so much nonsense? Get off me."
Seeing that he had the upper hand, Li Tingyun stood up straight and handed over the Qing Shuang sword with both hands.
He thought that Mei Shiyu would have to use her sword to transform into a jade belt to tie her waist before getting up. But Mei Shiyu waved her hand and used magic to drive him from the bedside to the outside of the room. The two doors slammed shut with a "bang," almost pinching the tip of his nose.
When Li Tingyun tried to open the door again, he found that it was locked with a seal.
Mei Shiyu: Beware of fire, theft, and apprentices; beware of thieves and robbers... still beware of apprentices.
Through the Immortal Binding Lock, he heard his disciple muttering on the other end, "Master, why did you kick me out?"
Mei Shiyu said, "You snore when you sleep."
He instructed, "Yuanbao, go next door—no, go downstairs and find a room to rest. Don't go out and cause any more trouble, understand?"
Li Tingyun said, "I wasn't asleep at all, so how could I be snoring?"
"Not recognizing the true face of Mount Lu..."
Mei Shiyu tucked the blanket in, closed her eyes, and only finished speaking halfway through her sentence.
"Go to sleep, go to sleep!"
Taking advantage of his deafness, Li Tingyun pretended to be fierce and said, "From now on, you won't have a good night's sleep!"
