The meeting officially ended, and everyone dispersed to go home. Moen and Makarov, of course, couldn't leave; they had to stay and repair the site.
Using a magic crystal ball that can be used for video communication, they have informed everyone in the guild of the situation, and the "Fairy Tail Construction Team," led by Uncle Reinhardt, has been mobilized once again.
This time it was a business trip, and the allowance was generous. Everyone came happily, and the repair work was successfully completed in no time.
That's what you call professional!
The journey back was quite lively; the entire guild chartered a whole carriage and returned to the guild in high spirits.
"Snapped!"
Makarov kicked the door open and swaggered into the guild, only to be greeted by a glare from Airo.
"Going out to a routine meeting cost nearly ten million J. Chairman, when you come back, please don't damage public property anymore. Laki works very hard too."
Airo was busy at the bar, and then took a moment to make a comment.
When Laki was mentioned, she just stuck out her tongue and didn't say anything. She didn't dare to complain about the president yet, even though she had complained to his face when she first joined. But now her impression of Makarov had changed a lot. She knew that the president wasn't that kind of lewd person, he just acted like one.
"You're so long-winded, Airo. A significant portion of those ten million J has already gone to everyone in the guild. It's essentially a guild subsidy for everyone, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that."
Makarov spoke nonchalantly.
Airo shook her head. She couldn't do anything about the president, so she could only coax him. They say old people are like children, and it's true that they become more and more like children as they get older.
As for the real children, Moen immediately became the center of attention upon his return, with all the children crowding around him.
"Line up, line up, everyone gets a turn."
Moen smiled and directed the children to line up and receive their gifts.
Because of the renovation of the meeting venue, Moen stayed in Crobado for a few days and bought gifts for everyone.
They're all interesting little trinkets, not very valuable, but the sentiment behind them is what matters.
For example, the scarf given to Natsu should come in handy, as should Gray's big shorts. Although Gray sometimes takes off all his clothes, he usually still has his shorts on, so these are definitely useful for him. Elfman also got a brightly colored parrot as a pet.
"This belongs to Kana. It's a treasure she found at the Demon Cat's Abode. According to Grandpa Robin, it's a divination tool from hundreds of years ago."
Moen handed a tortoise shell with mysterious symbols engraved on its back to Kana. He didn't know if it was real or fake, but that's what Robin said, so it seemed quite credible. It was normal for the old man, who was so powerful, to have some treasures.
Upon seeing the tortoise shell, Kana's eyes lit up. She took the shell and immediately began to study it, attracting Levy's attention as she became very interested in the symbols on it.
The gift Moen brought for Levy was some ancient books, which he got from the Cat Lodge. He had nothing to do in Croba, so he made a special trip to the Cat Lodge and made a lot of money. In the end, he was driven back by Robin, who couldn't stand it anymore.
"Thank you, Brother Moen~~~"
Having obtained the ancient book, Levy stopped fighting with Cana for the turtle shell. Holding the box containing the book, she was overjoyed, as if it were a priceless treasure.
The kids in the guild all have pretty pure personalities.
"This belongs to Erza."
Moen gave Erza a suit of armor, but it wasn't magical armor; it was also an old suit of armor.
As for the reason, it can only be said that Robin Lue had his reasons for kicking him out.
"Thank you, it's a very unique design."
Erza looked at the armor with surprise; she had a hobby of collecting armor.
She doesn't always use every piece of armor she buys, but she doesn't sell them; instead, she keeps them as collectibles. This particular piece of armor is clearly a valuable collectible.
She had previously given Moen a suit of armor, and now Moen had returned the favor with one. Erza's face lit up with a smile, clearly very happy.
Soon, Lisanna and Wendy received their gifts. Lisanna received a delicate little hair clip, while Wendy received a hair flower.
Lisanna has short hair, while Wendy is ready to grow her hair long, so Moen specially chose a hair accessory for Wendy to tie her hair up.
The two little ones jumped for joy after receiving their gifts, and they spent every day together, becoming very close.
Mirajane watched silently from the side. Even Jett and Troy received gifts, but Moen still didn't call her over.
Of course, she herself didn't voluntarily go to queue up, but Erza did, which shows that she was already used to doing so.
Seeing that Jet and Troy had already received their gifts and the team was about to break up, Mirajane bit her lip, wanting to take a step but unable to.
"Mira, this is for you."
However, while Mirajane was still debating whether or not to join the queue, Moen had already finished handing out gifts and approached her.
"Mine?"
Looking at the gift handed to her, Mira panicked. She was flustered and tried to take it, but didn't reach out to do so.
"Yes, I bought it especially for you."
Moen tilted his head slightly, a little puzzled by Mira's reaction. What he had taken for granted seemed quite special to Mira. Had this girl never received a gift before?
Thinking about it that way, it doesn't seem impossible.
I still owe you money.
Mira spoke up, her hesitation in accepting the gift stemming from her worry. She still owed Moen money, yet she accepted his gift—what kind of behavior was that?
"These are two different things, Mira. This is a gift I specially picked out for you. If you don't want it, I'll just have to throw it away."
Moen smiled helplessly. Mira was really strong-willed, remembering the debt so firmly that she was embarrassed to even accept gifts until the money was paid off.
But Moen himself didn't care about the money at all. He felt a little regretful. Why did it seem that lending money to Mira to build a house put more pressure on her?
"Why throw it away?!"
Upon hearing Moen say that he wanted to throw it away, Mira's reaction suddenly became much stronger. She raised her voice and stopped being so hesitant.
She took the gift bag, opened it, and found an apron inside, which surprised Mira.
"How could I throw away such a nice apron?"
You can give it to someone else.
Looking at the apron in the bag, Mirajane spoke softly.
"That won't do. I picked this out especially for you. How can I give it to someone else? If you don't want it, you'll just have to throw it away."
Moen shook his head and said firmly.
"."
Mirajane fell silent. She stared blankly at Moen, who had a bright, sunny smile on his face, and asked:
"Why an apron?"
"You seem very relaxed while you're cooking, Mila. You must really enjoy cooking, right? That's why I specially picked out an apron. I hope I can eat Mila's cooking more often in the future. It's really delicious. Just talking about it makes my mouth water."
Moen replied with a smile that he had indeed noticed this. Mira was clearly not good at cooking because of her status as the eldest sister or because of the pressure of making a living, although that might be part of the reason. But she herself really enjoyed cooking.
"Thank you, then I'll accept it."
Moen's words caused Mira to lose her composure. She pursed her lips, clutched the gift bag tightly, and thanked Moen.
"That's right, Mira. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Things are different now. You have a lot of family members you can rely on. Don't just focus on your own little family. You also have the guild, this big family. Look at Lisanna and Elfman, aren't they both happy in this big family?"
As Moen spoke softly, he reached out and patted Mira's head. Mira was quite cute when she wasn't in her delinquent mode.
"Snapped!"
"Don't treat me like a child, Moen!"
Mira slapped away Moen's hand that was on her head, wrinkled her nose, and gave Moen a fierce little look as she hissed in a low voice.
"Haha~ Don't be so fierce, Mira is definitely cuter the way she was just now~"
Moen laughed and teased Mira.
"snort!"
Mira's cheeks flushed slightly. She gave a soft snort and turned her head away from Moen.
"Moun!"
However, before Mira could say anything more, a loud shout made her turn her head back. She saw a figure rushing in, and it was this figure who called out Moen's name.
With blonde hair and wearing "sound pot" headphones, it's Laxus. Mira and Laxus don't interact much. Mira isn't very social, and Laxus rarely pays attention to others. The two have barely spoken a few words to each other so far.
At that moment, Laxus rushed up to Moen and stared at him with an incredulous expression.
"What's wrong, Laxus?"
Looking at Laxus's strange expression, Moen was puzzled. Did Laxus also want a gift?
"Of course I bought yours."
Before Laxus could speak, Moen picked up a bag and handed it to the bewildered Laxus.
"That's not important!"
Laxus pushed open the bag, then stared intently at Moen and asked:
"Moen, you defeated Joseph Pora? You defeated one of the Ten Wizard Saints?!"
Laxus's words were filled with complex emotions. First, there was a strong sense of disbelief, as if he didn't want to believe it, and then there was a hint of expectation and pride.
"Well, not really. Grandpa was the main force in the fight. I just made Joseph Paula suffer a huge loss."
Moen scratched his head, genuinely feeling embarrassed by the situation, as the rumors circulating outside had become far-fetched.
As the story spread, it became known that Moen had single-handedly defeated Joseph Paula.
Is it even acceptable to completely omit the main force of the battle?!
