Chapter 299 Exploration 6
Chapter 299 Exploration 6
Lingyu followed the winding road until she finally arrived at a bustling town. However, as she stepped into the town, she sensed an unusual atmosphere permeating it. The people lining the streets all looked listless, their eyes revealing deep fear and unease.
After careful inquiries, Lingyu learned that mysterious shadowy figures had been appearing erratically in the area recently. These figures moved erratically, often appearing silently after nightfall and then taking away many innocent people without a trace. To date, many residents have mysteriously disappeared, their fate unknown.
Lingyu keenly sensed that something evil might be stirring up trouble behind this. Driven by a strong sense of justice, she resolutely decided to stay and conduct an in-depth investigation, determined to uncover the mystery and restore peace and tranquility to the people.
Night gradually enveloped the earth, and the entire town was swallowed by darkness. Lingyu gripped her sword, cautiously lurking in the narrow, dark alleyways. Suddenly, a chilling gust of wind howled past, and the terrifying black shadow reappeared like a ghost.
Without hesitation, Ling Yu drew her sword and charged towards the shadowy figure. In an instant, the sword emitted a dazzling, holy light, as if possessing boundless power. This powerful holy energy made the shadowy figure wary; it retreated a few steps, but quickly regrouped and pounced on Ling Yu again.
The two exchanged blows fiercely for several rounds. Just as Lingyu was gradually gaining the upper hand, an astonishing scene unfolded—the dark shadow suddenly split into numerous tiny individuals, swarming towards Lingyu like locusts. Faced with this sudden turn of events, Lingyu was caught off guard and found herself in a passive position.
At the critical moment, Lingyu suddenly remembered the words the tree spirit had once told her: "This sword contains many magical abilities that have not yet been fully developed..." Thinking of this, Lingyu immediately calmed her mind and focused on communicating with the sword in her hand.
In an instant, the sword seemed to sense its master's inner call, suddenly unleashing rings of dazzling light waves. These light waves spread rapidly like ripples, shattering the small, dark figures wherever they went, turning them into wisps of black smoke that dissipated into the air.
Seeing the dire situation, the severely wounded shadowy figure hastily tried to reassemble, hoping to escape in the chaos. Lingyu, however, would not let it get away so easily. She swiftly cast a spell, her figure flashing like lightning, catching up with the fleeing shadowy figure in the blink of an eye. Then, Lingyu raised her sword high and swung it with all her might, unleashing a fierce sword aura that pierced the air, striking directly at the shadowy figure. A scream echoed through the night sky; the shadowy figure was completely obliterated by this fatal blow, unable to commit any more evil. The shadowy figure let out a defiant roar before vanishing completely. The townspeople, learning that Lingyu had saved them, came to express their gratitude. Knowing that more dangers awaited her in the world, Lingyu bid farewell to the crowd and continued her journey into the unknown and challenging distance. Not long after leaving the town, Lingyu entered a dense forest. This forest was shrouded in a strange mist, with extremely low visibility. As she walked, she heard a melodious flute tune, ethereal yet tinged with an eeriness. Following the sound, she saw a young man dressed in white sitting under a large tree, playing the flute.
Just as Lingyu was about to ask a question, vines suddenly sprouted from the surrounding trees and began to entangle her. Lingyu swung her sword, severing the vines, and looked warily at the boy. The boy stopped playing, slowly stood up, and said, "Outsider, this is my territory. You should not trespass." Lingyu explained that she was merely passing through and had no intention of offending him. The boy sneered and said, "Whether you meant well or not, now that you're here, don't expect to leave so easily." With that, he flicked his flute, and a flock of birds formed from leaves swooped down on Lingyu. Lingyu calmly parried, her sword flashing like a dense, impenetrable blade. Then, she tried to communicate with the boy using magic, expressing goodwill. Sensing that Lingyu meant no harm, the boy recalled the birds and allowed Lingyu to pass through the forest. Lingyu thanked the boy and continued her journey.
