Bullworker Exercises
and
Training
Is It Un-Healthy, Lame Brained And Will It
Lead To
Little... if
ANY Muscle Gain?
I wanted to share my thoughts and those of many experts in the field of exercise physiology on why you should NOT follow the old Bullworker exercises and training program.
What we first have to realize is that the Old Bullworker Exercise training program was created in the 1970s. Well, 30 plus years have gone by and so has the field of exercise and nutrition.
The results that the current level natural bodybuilder are achieving are way beyond what was done years ago and so is their training programs.
So, in essence the training protocol that Bullworker uses in their exercise program and wall chart are based on what was known about exercising 36 years ago!
Are you surprised?
No expert today, would recommend that you workout everyday. The correct training and workout schedule wouldbe to work out different muscles or one day of rest in between each workout.
With the Bullworker exercise program you are to do an isometric workout each day. Now, that would probably be okay if you are doing free hand isometric holds.
But, all isometric exercisers like the Bully Xtreme, Everlast Powerbow, Tensolator, Macho Power, Rio Power Worker, Golds Gym Max Worker Pro and any other Bullworker type exerciser provides much more resistance than ordinary isometrics. (That's why many individuals complain of "Bullworker Tennis Elbow.")
This Bullworker video I found on YouTube demonstrates the WRONG way to workout.
The Value Of Rest In Isometric Exercise
Muscles need rest. You grow when you are not exercising. It is rest that makes you stronger, because it's the rest that allows the muscles that you have broken down exercising, to heal and recover.
It is the rest that allows you to recover so you can be strong, and thereby handle the increased resistance and increased number of sets and reps needed to make further muscle gains.
Why Does Rest Play Such an
Important
Role in Muscle Recovery
It is during sleep where Growth Hormone (GH) levels are at their highest. Physiologic improvement in bodybuilding can only occur during the rest period following hard training. This is also why consuming the proper foods and supplements immediately following such training is key.
I will list SOME of the training and exercise recommendations that they want you to use and why you shouldn't ever follow that old Bullworker exercise guide and manual:
- Train Using Isometrics Everyday
- The lack of any advanced training principles that are proven to increase muscle growth and strength such as... muscle confusion, circuit training, the overload principle, and many others too numerous to mention.
- The Bullworker exercise program is too dependent on strictly using isometrics and not enough on utilizing a 3 to 4 day workout program that utilizes sets and reps.
- They DON'T provide any type of customer support, training information, nutrition information or anything else that would help the Bullworker user get the maximum benefits from his exercise program.
- They don't utilize eccentric training. One of the most POWERFUL training concepts
- They don't utilize post isometric holds
- They only offer a "one size fits" workout program. No customization information is provided whatsoever..
- Selling people on the foolish idea that one workout a week is enough to stimulate "REAL" muscle growth.
So you may say... "hey many people have used the old Bullworker exercise and training program and gotten results!"
Truth be told yes, you can get SOME results using the old Bullworker program. But many have tendonitis and joint pains!Everyone today knows you don't train every day, except of course the Bullworker exercise people!
No bodybuilder, power-lifter, Olympic athlete, NO ONE, today does a complete body workout every day.
That's just dumb, dumb, and double dumb!
The entire Bullworker training program that is still being preached by the Bullworker people is archaic and ridiculous. They need to spend some time and money as I have and provide better information and support to their customers!
I hear it all the time from people using the old Bullworker exercise program that they end up getting "tendonitis."
Their joints and tendons hurt and they either quit or stop training. Has this happened to you yet? Well keep using the old Bullworker exercise program and it will!
Sheesh!
There are more reasons why YOU shouldn't follow that Bullworker exercise program. I have listed the more important ones here.
In a future article I will go into more details!
